First full day

We spent the day on the beach. Roe did her best to hang, but we were in her shoes the day before so we could understand her wanting to get a little rest. We couldn’t decide on what to eat for dinner until very late in the evening so we went with a nearby old standby, Margaritaville.

We recapped our day and Roe’s experience of her first day in Negril. There was a discussion about going to Alfred’s after dinner but no one said anything definite.

While chatting, we glanced up at the wall at saw a sign that we’d never seen before, ever [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70459-idea.gif[/img]. I guess we just never looked. All you can drink from 11-4pm for $12.00 [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/bannana_purple.gif[/img] [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/breakdance.gif[/img] [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70371-jump.gif[/img] [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70371-jump.gif[/img] We couldn’t decide on whether or not to go to Alfred’s but we decided that we’d be back during the day for the all you can drink special. Leaving Margaritaville, only 2 of us made it to Alfred’s that night.

What's wrong with your leg

I walked the beach with Sweetpotatopi to visit some friends on the opposite end.

On the way back, someone that recognized her from the night before stopped us. He immediately notices my legs and asks “Wha happen to your leg? [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek2.gif[/img]” When my Jamaican friends ask me what’s wrong with something (usually the bites on my legs), I panic. My thought is if you have never seen this before, and don’t know what it is, then I am in trouble. I replied, "oh just a few bites." He looked at me like, yeah okay if you think so.

Shortly after returning to Seasplash it was time to head to the cliffs.

I wanna be free

We didn’t go to Jackie’s in November so I was more than ready to return. This is our 2nd trip as a group to Jackie’s. It would be Roe’s first.

Arrival was on time but a bit chatty. We were still engaged in our conversation from the van, but once we got inside, we immediately hushed, it is so peaceful and tranquil at Jackie’s, you really don’t want to hear any noise other than your inner voice.

We all chose aromatherapy massage. Choclit said she enjoyed the body scrub, but I needed to lay my down my burdens on that table down by the riverside.

I went to Jackie’s as a hudled mass of nerves, stress, California pollution, mental contortion, and overwhelm. I can’t wait to breath free.

The magazine article

I spoke with Jackie about the article in Caribbean Travel and Life. She remembered us from our previous visits and from seeing us at dinner in November. those rock piles are an interesting thing to see- the only other place I have seen them is in buddhist monasteries.

Love your report so far! The photo of Lady Effie's is great - I went there with my sister a few weeks ago. Brought some tea back with me...

I am glad you enjoyed Jackies; the last 2 times I went things had changed in the way the deal with customers, so I'm branching out in terms of massage services these days. It IS beautiful up there, though.

OK, I'm all caught up now. Your report is helping me get ready for my next trip to Negril this coming weekend. I think it's trip #20? 21? Something like that...

This was my 3rd time at Jackies and although someone said that the rock piles have always been there (since I've been going), I guess I never "really" noticed them. But I did that day and I spent some time studying them. Jackie told me that occasionally visitors add rocks to the formations. I didn't want to have a Jenga experience [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/704555_dwl.gif[/img], so opted not to do that [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70409-waytogo.gif[/img].
