One time mi an mi cousin dem set up swinga inna di backyaad pon one breadfruit tree Yes, mi seh breadfruit tree.

So when wi done everybaddy ready fi tek dem turn. Fi mi cousin Dee a di fuss one fi go aan an wouldn't come aaf. All wi a tell him, 'Dee, a fi wi turn now', him still a swing an naa hear.
All af a sudden wi hear 'CREAK!! CREAK!! Pow!!' Di branch bruck an a Dee dat wi si a fly. Him go lan' up pon one banana tree pap it dung.

I was just talking to my friend who is from Kingston, we were talking about how kids just know about video games and such. I remember when I was small our yard was really big so all the neighborhood friends would come and play football, we had a basketball court and they would play baseball too.

We would stay out all day until it was time to eat lunch or dinner. The younger girls use to make mud pies and cook grass for vegetables. We would let the mud pies cook in the sun,we would make jewelry out of dandelion flowers.The older guys would take a water break and pretend to eat our mudpies that was the best. I played with my Barbie until I was 11!

We would always get chased by bees,because we had 2 apple trees and 1 pear tree. When a bee would start to chase you my cousin use to holler"Run ziz zaz so the bee would sting you!" That was the biggest lie,Ive gotten stung quite a bit by those darn bees!

We also use to have chickens and one stupid mean Rooster! When we use to try to go to school in the mornings you had to open the back door and try to find the rooster. With books in hand we would creep down the back steps and creep across the grass to take the shortcut to school. Next thing you know this mean rooster was in high chase aiming to peck your legs. We would be screaming and running at the same time trying to outrun this mean Rooster. :verymad:

We should all be track stars with all that running. No wonder we all didn"t drop out of school because of that rooster.It was like he knew the time or something as soon as we would come from school he would be chasing us back into the house. Finally my grandfather killed it because it almost put one of my visiting cousin"s eye out I guess she didn"t run fast enogh and it flew at her face.

We didn"t know he was going to kill the rooster. Well we went out front to play and he had chopped his head off with his ax. The rooster was running around bleeding and we was screaming running thinking it was chasing us! NOT AGAIN! [img]/forums/images/graemlins/704555_dwl.gif[/img] When we had chicken for dinner nobody would touch it because we knew where it came from. Unless we saw that it was frozen from the grocerystore none of the kids would eat it. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/704555_dwl.gif[/img]
