I don’t mean to come off like I am defending here but I think maybe a wrong perception plays a role here.

Let’s say there is a member called <span style="font-weight: bold">“XcessivePoster”</span> who always post in Sports forum because that is where he is most comfortable posting.. . but 70% of what he post are not related to sports..they are more suited for “International News or say “Personal Finances/Business”. If the mods transfer his post to these various fora, the perception maybe that he is being picked on – No?

If he objects to the transfers and comes to feedback to say that the Sports Mod has a vendetta against him ..would that be a fair assessment without clear grounds on which to make that claim?

Trying to see things from a diff angle here…

why does there have to be any motive or agenda?


sometimes you just notice that a thread woudl be more fitting in another forum and you move it because you caught it early before discussion was entrenched ...other times you come in later an leave the same thread because there is active discussion..then later on you move it when discussion has died down.


people take the selves way too seriously on these forums.

no, I never said that.

It is according to what has been said already - posts should be moved to the appropriate forum then all of the kinds that shouldnt be in GD should be moved too. Unless there is a caveat for certain posts to remain no matter what. This is where it will get confusing and look like bias if some are moved and others arent.

there is no win in this for the board administration ...no matter what action is taken the perception of bias or hidden agenda will remain....if we stop moving posts it will be because we are pandering to the whiners....if we continue we are deaf to complaints and are not open and fair.

I type and backspace suh much, because like u RichD I don't see where the solution is.

If u use discretion and don't move a very active and pertinent post relating to new taxes/crime/something else happening in Jamaica it's because you and the poster is friend.

If you move another post to sports or wherever it's because u don't like the person that post it.

not how i see it. It is the way it is handled and not the action itself.

if someone asks pointedly x y z, why some of the taunting and rolling eyes business that acompanies it like they shouldnt bother saying what the think on a matter? Say that this doesnt happen but I'll let me comments stand

bottom line - posts started to get moved about the place before it is even stated that this is what &quot;mangement&quot; wanted to do. If that was said from the get go, less confusion and annoyance. Okay announced...good....then the timing of when some are moved or not moved at all b/c a source of annoyance. Just address it instead of asking why is someone complaining?

this isnt about passing judgement and being mean, it is just what it looks like. And if it isnt, clear it up and eliminate the sense of badmind between others and also your feeling as admins/mods of being picked on - (see: the damned if u do, damned if u dont sentiment u expressed comes off as such).

No one gets everything right all the time including u guys. And sometimes boardites do need to be sent on the school bus cause the are raving idiots....
again, I am not saying do this or do that. just trying to flesh out what the issues are; what the perception is; and things to think about as u try to find a way to sort it out so dont come back and say, I am telling u to do this or that.

The forums have Mods for reason and part of the job description is to move posts to their appropriate fora.. This is not something that warrants &quot;management&quot; announcement. Xavier came to make this statement because of the recent rash of complaints ..it was not formally announce that this was a new thing.

Funny enough post are being moved from other forums besides GD all over the place without a single whisper - seamless without a itch and fuss. I think sometimes we need to step back an little and just come to the conclusion it ain't that serious.

And I agree..dam if the mods do and dam if they don't. In the past 12 yrs of me being on the board MODs have retired and new ones come in but the complaints stays the same. Remove ALL the current GD mods and put in new ones there and the cycle of habitual &quot;fight gainst mi&quot; complaints continues.

The mods don't read every single post. A lot of times the <span style="font-weight: bold">Subject</span> of the thread is what determines if and where the post will be moved. So may I suggest that everyone makes sure that the Subject reflects the content of the thread.

Also, this is not a new initiative and was discussed 3 months ago. However it was a result of a member's question.

We'll try to be more proactive next time there is a policy change or an initiative that affects members to that you know what is happenening before it takes place.
