The transfering of posts to relevant forums

Hi Everyone

In an effort to "spread some of the wealth" around I asked moderators to move posts to related forum especially from GD which is sometimes top heavy. This has affected some posters more adversely than others.

I realize that this may be disrupting the flow of posts in the forum. I am revisiting this issue. As many of you know I am flexible to suggestions and feedback. I will be the first to admit if I was wrong. Ultimately this is "our" community so I need to hear from you.

PS: This post is not to address issue you are having with moderators.

how come mods/admins couldnt have conveyed the same sentiment earlier when posts in FD asked the same question instead of acting like those who do complain about it are just wrong or at worst annoying them?

I'm not standing on one side or the other, just noting how it has all been handled. It seems like it is a big joke because of who has been most vocal when who shouldnt be the issue.

Would it help if we put the policy in gd?

I really dont want to get into a long discussion about it cause I have a trip to go pack for but you know that isnt what I mean at all. The tone of the last couple threads in FD regarding the matter, doesnt show any of that. The point is to remain unbiased, no?

just an observation from my side of the computer is all.

my only other comment is: has the moving of threads created the desired result? Has traffic in other forums increased due to such threads being moved? If it hasnt should it continue?

the answer to the above should factor into whether the idea is a successful one or not...

I think the general idea of moving threads to more suitable forums is a good one. But I also think that the motive behind moving threads is not always clear... hidden agenda and all that...

so by moving all these threads to and fro....what you're left with is GD becomes the forum for racism/discrimination topics. is that the intention? why not just name it Blackgiant Land?

damn it I need to go but

Kia - if it has then maybe make this point more overt to help with the situation in addition to it being more transparent why which threads are moved over others. Cause nuff Jamaican news threads in GD when I feel they should be moved as well. but if there is a reason why those remain in place it isnt clear.

because he has Haiti and the Caribbean already

but seriously we do many other discussions in GD besides what you have mentioned above.

so more moving should go on then? (although, <span style="font-weight: bold">imo</span> the Jamaican threads don't need to be moved from General Discussion)

i dont think the solution is to have everything bungle up in GD
