I dont think that Fada Norman was any better or worst than Busta...

One thing that the PNP has to get credit for was that they did expand the electrification of Jamaica.....

/my favorite thing that Seaga and the JLP did mess up was their creation of the idea of a Junior Secondary school, rahter than creat centers of excelence they did the opposite.. The Pnp worst was the hot bedding of schools.... And one of those things that that I recall how they came up the insipid rationalisation of a second best education system...

i could not put his flaws better.... He does think a head....

But his other flaw is he has an inflated opnion of his abilities and inteligence....

on the contrary, he is confident of his strengths...an his strengths r real unlike those who r confident in their weaknesses an know not that they r juss that,weaknesses

In this case I did not want to be the one to be accused of turning it into a PNP vs. JLP discussion. The original question posed a PNP vs. PNP scenario. Obviously some comparison between the approaches of the two Parties is bound to (and have come up), but I thought for my first dip I would keep it straight.

The funny thing about Daddy Manley he said some dangerous thing in one of the PNP Manifestos about Foreigners would not be allowed to own Property in Jamaica, could not invest more than £500. I myself did not learn of this till Hartley Neitia wrote a column in the Newspaper recalling the anniversary of that Manifesto, it was then read on POL, I am sorry I did not see the print version because that would have made interesting reading if it was posted. As Mr. Perkins remarked after it was read, &quot;<span style="font-family: 'Arial Black'">See the madness did not start with Michael Manley&quot;</span>.

Yes they all dabbled around with the LEFT in the early years and when I say &quot;all&quot; it included Norman Washington Manley, founder of the PNP. ~ The PARTY was founded on the policies of the British Labour Party which was a Socialist party. Bustamante used to label the PNP at times as &quot;Communists&quot; in his political campaigns... Norman on one of his early trips to the US, was detained for a while at Ellis Island as a suspected Commie before he was released.

I Guessed when he came down on the 4H's, he must have been wanting to prove that the PNP was not a Communist Party, It was a bruising time for the party because three of the FOUR were stalwarts of the party, one was the VP of the party with a popularity greater than that of Manley himself, which must have been hard to take...

okay, I havent read the entire thread yet, so perhaps the answer is eventually given, but I still do not know or understand exactly what the Land Lease program entailed. What was its stated goal that was not eventually acheived?

Simply put. It was promoted as programme to put idle Crown Lands under production and to make productive souls out of under-employed farmers.

The only thing it did was to put idle Party Hacks onto Estates and Lands once owned by Private Persons who were driven off their properties by the polices of the corrupt Comrade Government.

I challenge any person(s) to prove that even one of these projects was successful.

Tuffy the effects we are seeing is what was sowed 20 years ago.... Those early graduates are coaching....Lack of investment in social programs such as these returns are medium term. If the facilities have fallen in dis repair then the lack of benifits are not immidiate... If we dont maintain then it will be like a puff of wind...
