in the last 32 years the only 2 years of real economic growth was during Seagas regime.. The rest was negative growth.... I heard a theory that Rwanda happened after 3 continous years of negative growth.. After thirty years is it any wonder of the murder statistic...

I gotta ask Mr Youth did you ever experience Manleys economic miracle????(Before you accuse me of dis old mike and being a labourite... I was once treathen my Mr Seagas supporters whern he stood in arms length of me... anmd I was pleading begging them to let some children pass unmolested... )

What annoys me is that for 4 years between 72 and 76 the c\goverment basically in the mane of socialism destroyed the entrapunuerial base of Jamaaica..... Devoiding the country of many small buisessess.. And many of the parents whos children now hail it as a economic miracle....


Thjen for another 4 years continue to dig deeper and deepre in \to a hole.... I seem to recall the \re was a time that the news conisted of not murder count but a legion of reports detailing loans that teh goverment got for development... The best was the first time we took a loan from Barbados.... My fatehr was almost crying in shame!

ther are many ways to measure economic growth,and in the not so far future,jamaica's economic growth will be re-evaluated and many will be confused with the findings. Of course one will hear that it is all about oilitics.
..but it will be the begining of real country benefits fro the growth of the economy. Why with all the economic growth that they have been touting,Jamaica could not borrow on the bond market,because it was not considered economically viable enough?
The day they start allow real economists to make economic analysis will be the day when politics is taken out of economics.
Today most economic analysis is nothing more than political postering and promotion of the views of the powerful.

Sorry Doc but by what measure is Jamaica economy a shining example of development.. The GDP has been shrinking, the balance of payment gets worse, the economy has stagflation, inflation without growth..

While my economics traing comes via the market forces of peasant farmer I cannot see any singel economic indicator that makes any sence... We can borrow on the bond martket because of the high return taht is on offer ? What are the Returns on the bond ???? ie if you lend Jamaica US dollars what is the intrest the govrement will pay ??? So if you have money who would you lend someone with 3% or 10% ? Argentina in the late 90's swas the poster child of bond markets.. It then went to rat [censored] in early 2000's...They then renegoiated a deal at a world bank to return was in 25 cents on the dollar....

But what do I know ???? I bow to your superior knowledge...
