SSP Adams steps up quest for reinstatement
Former Head of the Crime Management Unit, CMU, Senior Superintendent Reneto Adams has stepped up his quest to be reinstated in the Jamaica Constabulary Force.
In his latest attempt, SSP Adams has sought the intervention of the Public Defender.
He has reportedly asked the Public Defender to investigate why he has not been given regular duties and full pay nearly six months after being acquitted of the 2004 Crawle killings.
SSP Adams told RJR News that he has not been informed why he is yet to be reinstated.
SSP Adams turned to the Public Defender following a meeting with Commissioner of Police Lucius Thomas.
It's reported that the Police Commissioner informed SSP Adams that he was awaiting word from the Police Service Commission on his reinstatement.
SSP Adams is warning that if the Public Defender's efforts fail he's prepared to take his case to the Supreme Court.
SSP Adams says he's disappointed with the treatment he's getting after giving years of service to the Force.
Five other members of the CMU who were also freed of the Crawle killings have since resumed regular duties.
