Yes BUT its not about debates it whats in the communities where the vast amount of the electirate is.

I think Mr Golding is bright as a button but many bright people have lost elections look at Al Gore in 2000 in the US.

Mr Seaga presided over growth double the PNP but being technically correct does not mean you have won.

I think the politics are going beyond the rhetoric but will people use the head than heart on the morning of the 27th?

It is at this time where debates do matter. An election is looming. Each must try their best to impress on the electorate what they are about so as to win votes.

The PNP has been in office for 18 years. They must impress us only on what they have achieved within those 18 years.
Some say that it is for the love of Portia and that Portia loves us that will win many votes for the PNP and return themselves back into power, God forbid.

The JLP has been out in the wilderness for 18 years. They have also changed their leader from Seaga to Golding. Golding before resigned from the JLP and formed a new party, the NDM. He brought forward new ideas and explained why he left the JLP.
He returned to the JLP and said that he had not given up on the new ideas.
He was elected the JLP leadership role on Seaga`s retirement.
He will implement those ideas when elected Prime Minister of Jamaica once given a mandate from the Jamaican people.

So choose between a party in power for 18 years and what they have achieved and not achieved. Choose also between another party with new leadership and new ideas.

Choose a party that has won overwhelmingly on 2 of the 3 debates last week. Choose a party whose manifesto is new and has targets for Jamaica to achieve.
Choose a party that has Jamaicans welfare at heart.
Choose a party that shows you how they are going to finance the means of achieving those targets.
Choose a party that shows you a leader and potential ministers of Govt. that will be more likely than the others to taking Jamaica to the summit of success.

Because Portia is not a sharp debater and clearly was'nt prepared does not mean she should dismissed completely the life of the party does not revolve solely around around her...the party has many capable members of which she is one
She is a veteran politian and very capable leader notwithstanding the debate debacle

Dont be naieve and think that Wardob is only banking on 3 debates so impressive they were to win his vote for the JLP.
Portia is a very capable leader?
Do you not realize that the PNP hierarchy are split and on the end of their nerves about Mother Portia as Prime Minister.
They are not bickering as much publicly but we all know that the majority were banking on Peter Phillips to take over from Patterson.
KD Knight was one of those that was hell bent on Portia not leading the party.
Where will KD be after the 27th? Out of representative politics.
Retired by his own free will.
There are a few more who have chosen not to be there under the Mother but will fight to let the PNP remain in office, because they think it is best for the PNP to form the administration and to do anything to remain in office is what they desire for us Jamaicans.

The electorate is so excited about things from the heart, hugs and kisses and if that is the only threat for the JLP attaining leadereship, then Jamaica is not deserving of anything better than what we have at hand under a leader who calls herself Mother and refers to herself in 3rd person, Portia Portia and calls us her children.

I did not see it, but Audley Shaw also pulled the carpet from under Omar Davis in the second of the 3 debates.
It is said too that of the 6 debaters, Audley Shaw was tops.
With Bruce not having any competition in his debate with the inept Mother Portia, cause him not to bring out his best.
One could at times only feel pity for the Prime Minister.
Many many I have heard say that they were so very embarassed by the Prime Minister in the debate.

I know Bruce ability to intelligently articulate his position and facts, although this time I don’t think he was at his best, and I know Portia inability to comprehend facts , someone say her inability to comprehend complex sentences…. It’s not just the debate she is not sharp on, she is not sharp on anything, and have very little in the common sense department. Comrade if you are basing your argument and support for her on the fact that she is a veteran politician, then you are doing you past great leaders a disservice.

Dr. Errol Williamson(JLP) in South St. Catherine next door to Arthur Williams is a nephew of the late (PNP) stalwart Winston Jones.
He by what I heard him say in an interview with Cliff Hughes on Nationwide 70.2AM is another potentially good man for Jamaica`s politics.

Jamaicans always vote with their heads... the conclusions that they come to always surprise those who have contempt for the opnion of us... This is something the PNP machine came to understand after their defeat in 1980 and have since resolved never to run an election on principle but on pork barrels...
