Yes BUT its not about debates it whats in the communities where the vast amount of the electirate is.

I think Mr Golding is bright as a button but many bright people have lost elections look at Al Gore in 2000 in the US.

Mr Seaga presided over growth double the PNP but being technically correct does not mean you have won.

I think the politics are going beyond the rhetoric but will people use the head than heart on the morning of the 27th? </div></div>

Jamaicans always vote with their heads... the conclusions that they come to always surprise those who have contempt for the opnion of us... This is something the PNP machine came to understand after their defeat in 1980 and have since resolved never to run an election on principle but on pork barrels... </div></div>

This time Jamaicans are going to vote with their bells.

The JLP has been out in the wilderness for 18 years. They have also changed their leader from Seaga to Golding. Golding before resigned from the JLP and formed a new party, the NDM. He brought forward new ideas and explained why he left the JLP.
He returned to the JLP and said that he had not given up on the new ideas.
He was elected the JLP leadership role on Seaga`s retirement.
He will implement those ideas when elected Prime Minister of Jamaica once given a mandate from the Jamaican people.

So choose between a party in power for 18 years and what they have achieved and not achieved. Choose also between another party with new leadership and new ideas.

Choose a party that has won overwhelmingly on 2 of the 3 debates last week. Choose a party whose manifesto is new and has targets for Jamaica to achieve.
Choose a party that has Jamaicans welfare at heart.
Choose a party that shows you how they are going to finance the means of achieving those targets.
Choose a party that shows you a leader and potential ministers of Govt. that will be more likely than the others to taking Jamaica to the summit of success.</div></div>
Both parties JLP and PNP had MANY CHANCES in office to do something.
Both parties had a long time in office to put things right over a period of time.
Both parties failed the Jamaican people miserably.
Both parties broke their promises and pledge to the Jamaican people.
Both parties are as bad as each other.
Both parties have terrorist organizations within their stronghold areas.
Both parties do not have the political will for positive change.
Both parties are useless.

Jamaica need a new political system that is democratic, fair, sophisticated and people friendly.

It is what I have also been writing and what any rational Jamaican should be thinking.
I would ask that anyone with a differing opinion reply to any one of his points.

I find it astounding that so many in this forum dedicate so much time to talking about the supposed merits of this debate or that speech or that manifesto by either party when it is as plain as the nose on one's face that both parties (and the economic system they support) have failed the Jamaican people since independence.

How can any sane person continue to believe that these same parties with no apparent change in policies or economic planning can turn Jamaica around?

There is a quote regarding a man about to be married for the sixth time that says he was doing so based on hope over experience.

I would say that voting for candidates of these two failed parties is no different.
You would be putting your faith in hope over long experience when there is nothing upon which to base that faith.

Why not just go to church and pray for deliverence?

All true More4us.....But as much as I despise the JLP as do most jamaicans there is no alternative at the present time..
what do jamaicans do?Stay with what appears to be a leader who
after many years in politics can not even fake her way through a simple debate of the current issues

The JLP should be way ahead in the polls ...Given that it is a statistital dead heat should tell you volumes
They are in danger of loosing an election to a party that has not done much in 18 years and lead by a female George Bush
