You see unlike many of you rabid supporters of the PNP or JLP I am still young enough to not vote in any major elections and did not live in a garrison where I was forced to suppport a party.

So when you use word like "your party" or assume I support PNP it is quite comical and only shows how ingrained the nastiness of garrison politics is in the likes of you.

So yawn and make noise and rable rouse and cut off the green bush in your yard and run around your yard in Florida or where ever you living, your time has cum...and passed. Thankfully.

Wardob my disdain for tribalism in politics may make me come across as aloof but my intention was to

1. get the attention of people who start topics like this and engage in tom foolery to think about how their actions can affect Jamaicans who don’t live down there and don’t know any better.

I don’t care who win JLP or PNP having read both manifestos Jamaica will not explode or sink in to the sea come aug. 27th, what Jamaicans need to do regardless of who win is to put Jamaica first and build back up the country.

The amount of real estate I saw on sale right off the second phase of the new highway and the people who I am seeing buying it up, will have repercussions to come later down the road. That to me need to be raised to Jamaicans at home and abroad (especially abroad) rather than PNP a write chek or Bunting a sell off car dung a mandibel. I am about to go to a meeting but I have a topic/issue I would like to debate with you.

PEOPLE'S National Party (PNP) candidate for South St Catherine and junior finance minister, Fitz Jackson, says he disagreed with his party's decision to return money to Trafigura Beheer BV since the party was operating above board.

"Once we establish the rules fine... but once you do it (accept funds) within the purview of what prevails above board then nothing is wrong," Jackson said Wednesday.

"The JLP has gotten funds for advertising and I don't see anybody crying crocodile tears this time," he told the Observer, shortly after addressing congregants at the Fellowship Tabernacle in Kingston where he was invited to participate in a debate on why electors should vote for his party in the August 27 polls.

"I disagree with the party on that (the return of the money), but this is my personal position in that I don't think it should have been returned," he said.

Asked if returning the money could be seen as admittance of guilt, Jackson said it was the matter in which the Trafigura issue was reported which accounted for this decision.

Jackson accused the Opposition Jamaica Labour Party of being very dishonest and hypocritical in making claims about the Trafigura money, since the party has been receiving contributions from both private and corporate entities in Jamaica.

When asked about the conflict of interest, given that Trafigura had received a contract to lift crude oil from Nigeria on Jamaica's behalf, Jackson said the money, given to the PNP, was neither a breach nor was it unethical.

And responding to a question posed by a panellist about the return of the Trafigura fund during the discussion, he said everyone knows it was a contribution for the party and not for the country.

"Both parties and all parties in Jamaica over the years have received contributions from private individuals and corporate entities in Jamaica and out of Jamaica," he said.

"And anyone who gets up and says it is indecent or improper to obtain a contribution from a corporate entity I believe is hypocritical and dishonest," he added.

Jackson said he had responded to the invitation from the church so that the party could add "clarity in the minds of the voters and citizens as what we are participating in as the government and PNP".

Pastor of the church, Rev Al Miller, said it was part of the church's responsibility to educate the community at large to understand the issues.

"Selecting leaders is most important and you must select leaders not out of sentiments or posture of ignorance, but from an informed position and based on principles," he said.
Golding was present at the first debate held at the church last Thursday. The Prime Minister was also invited but was unable to attend because of the visit of the Brazilian president, Luiz Inacio "Lula" da Silva.
