Well that resolved the keyboard crisis but I am still at a loss as to why the thing crashes so often. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img] And do you think it would be good to buy one of these patches advertised by microsoft??

Well di previous crashes could bi many things. Don't worry about them, that is why I had you do a fresh install, to clear out all potential software causes.

If you hav a legal copy of Win_XP, you dont have to buy the patches/updates they are free. Everyone should make sure that they are up to date on all the Win_XP and MS Office updates.

Okay but the thing is when I click on it to install it takes me to a page with a bunch of stuff and I have to pick which one I want to update. I don't know what to install [img]/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img] or should I install everything.

You generally get the update choice of installing individual items, or the entire SP1a or SP2 package for win_XP. For MS Office you get the same update thing except it is SP3.

In your specific case I would recommend installing the entire package.
