LOL! Grats on the upgrade, you will be much happier with Firefox. Its amazing how fast a PC can get bogged down with adware/spyware. I've seen client PC's so hosed because of them that it damn near cant boot. So many programs are have partnerships with other spyware/adware these days that its easy to click 'yes' before reading that the program will also install Gator/Aim/etc.
Go ahead and run the programs I linked and see what comes up. I bet you'll be suprised at how much code has managed to make a home on your hard drive. If nothing else it may help speed up your PC a bit. I have to maintain a Win98 network and often pull off 10-100 adware/spyware bits of code. Run it every month or so depending on your net usage.

[qb] J-kid, I did as you instructed and got some improvement in the browser's load time on web pages. Much better.
Earlier I installed Firefox and guess what... Jamaicans.com and google.com load in not even a second. Could it be that IE is choked up with ads and scripts as Reby said?
With much sound advice, you've helped me tremendously with this issue. Saturday mi up 'til 3AM battling the slow load time, cleaning cache, turning on/off...
I think the headache is now over. So far, I like Firefox. Main concern was importing the Favorites but it took care of that during setup. Removed all icons to IE off the desktop and out of quick launch... Firefox set as my default browser.
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!! [/qb]
If you should run into the same problem again, you may want to lower the "program control" under the "Main" tab in Zonealarm temporarily, to allow zonealarm to learn the level of sensitivity, then you can return it to medium.
