Yes I remember that too.

Libraries, yes, they will go the way of the dinosaur. As will newspapers, magazines and printed books. CD players will soon join the list as well.

Going to the movies, while not as popular as it was before VCRs came out is still a place to go. Amazing really! </div></div>

interesting point re movies..

wonder why that is? makes more sense financially or people juss like to watch movies with other people </div></div> The reason is that the majority of people have not discovered the majic of home surround sound and rumbler subs.

i installed one in living room some time ago,and couldnt get the kids out of the place. I had to puit in a place I created on the lower level. It still seem to be the neighborhood movie theatre.

That was enough to warrant it for me. I mean it sounds as if you are in a movie. Did I tell you that they even bring popcorn?/ and yes we have to vaccium the place after they leave too.

i think it is more of a space issue because if you live in an attached building den u gwine annoy de naybas wid u movies (unless they are there to enjoy it as well)

yes the subwoofers do make a difference! </div></div> No you don't really . But the belief that i does may be a reason why it is not more popular. I my home we have now 4 different systems. since everyone seem to be adicted toit whe watching movies.
It is not about how loud. It is about the dynamism of the sound. They call it surround sound, but it is more like a moving sound. In that the sound comes from thedirection of the source onthe screen. If something is happenning like a car travelling from left to right the sound does that too. Tghe adiod come from the actors position the audience is difference. where is is striking is watching any popular soectator spoty. They audience is all around but the other sounds comes from the direction they are on the screen. It is as if yiu are at the event. Only without the weather and that special annoying fan, that comes for thatspecial ourpose. I have been using it for years,and we have differentset up depending on the room. when they are using it in the house unles the door is open i don't really know.

There is also one called a &quot;microfiche Viewer&quot;. It used a about a 4&quot; x 5&quot; film sheet, instead of the rolled film strip, that was packed full with hundresd of articles and drawings.

They both were a pain in the &quot;A&quot; to use.

Not that I know of J kid. I don't miss those old metal speakers that you would have to hang on the side window of the car.

Yes I remember using Microfiche. some even use magnetic refording process too. similar technology to VCR. you know what is the problem withthe latter? they have tibe copying all those recorded onmagnetic media,now. this is due to the relative short life span of the media. this they did not know then. they had projected much longer life span. this si the problem they have been finding belatedly with the newer CD recording today.

Not that I know of J kid. I don't miss those old metal speakers that you would have to hang on the side window of the car.
