Yuh sure ah F12 put fi yuh PC inna CMOS? Usually F2, F1, F3, or Delete button


It is not enough to just enable di CD drive in CMOS, yuh haffi manually move the CD player up to the top of the stack, as the first boot device, or it will default to the HD with winXP pan ie.

You must also SAVE the changes, before getting out of CMOS and rebooting.

You are correct J-Kid I was able to change the setup options to boot from the CD ROM only and then I was able to reinstall windows...


Dr Dudd I did not get the erase software as I was able to boot up but will keep it in mind for next time (besides when I went to Best Buy they did not have it available).

So I have a basic windows xp sp2 machine with nothing else on it. I have to load the drivers for the monitor, the usb wireless adapter and load antivirus software and then reload the other application software (office, firefox, itunes, etc ).
a long day ahead of me tomorrow.

If yuh had imaged yuh system like mi been warning unnu fi years, yuh would not hav had to goh through none ah dis. Well, das life, ah guess.

funny enough i have the laptop on auto backup but not the desktop.. If i decide to keep the desktop I will image it and also set to have the software installed on my backup drive

i am seriously leaning toward the mini mac because it is just for kids and the dell dimension 3000 processor is kinda slow
