I bought a Sony about 4 years ago.

I quick took it back to the store a couple days later because I had to get a Sony only specific card.

XD CARDS are different from SD and not as easily to come by AZ SD.
But readers are usually able This read both cards.

there are also adopters That allow SD to work in XD equipment.

I'm a Nikon fan. I have a Nikon dslr, and a Nikon Coolpix, and I also have a Fugi Finepix. I was also a fan of Olympus and just gave one to a friend, I didn't need 4 cameras. Anyway, in these four cameras only the Olympus and Fuji cameras had interchangeable cards. The Nikon cards are different between the two models I own. Cards are cheap and I wouldn't use it as a factor when selecting a camera. The card readers are all cheap now a days too.
