Hmm, Reby thanks, but that nah work. here is the deal, what i see..

I go to my Bookmarks, where I just happened to see a yellow folder that happens to contain a whole slew of photos that I thought got lost.

I hold my cursor over the folder and a list of about 200 photos pops up.

I can only open one at a time, I cannot highlight anything. I tried to do the copy paste thing of the yellow folder itself, no go.

I tried to open the 'My Pictures', hoping I can drag it but that opens in Explorer and the folder isn't listed there, only in my Firefox browser. That wouldn't work from there either.

Oh well....

I needs a dunce cap, a new computer, oh heck, a lot of things. Guess I'll just start moving them one by one and resize them while I'm at it cause they're all high res photos! I was just hoping I could do it some other way than one at a time.

Don't try to open My Pictures. just right click on it,then select [send to] in the drop down. Then click where you want to send it,like save them to any media or send them to you desk top or where ever, then from there do whatever you wish with them.

A or B=Floppy drive.
C=Boot Hard drive.
E,F,G.H....etc=Hard drive,CD, DVD, thumb drive, etc.

Dr. Dudd, yep, that's what I'm doing, one at a time...

I'm just happy I didn't loose the pictures as I previously thought! I'm about halfway done. I just wish I could delete as I go, hehehe, the list is looong!

JKind, the correct letters were displayed. Once I get them all moved I'll try to fire up the old CD burner again and see what happens...

SYMPTOMS
You may discover that multimedia files on your hard disk are missing from their original location and the files may be renamed with "change atleast now to LINUX" in the file name extension. You may also discover that e-mail messages that you send contain an attachment named Creative.exe when the messages are received; however, you did not send the Creative.exe attachment with the message.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if your computer is infected with the W32/ProLin@MM virus, also known as TROJ_SHOCKWAVE.A, CREATIVE, TROJ_PROLIN.A, Creative.exe, I-Worm.Creative, Prolin-Shockwave, TROJ_SHOCKWAVE, and W32.Prolin.
RESOLUTION
If you suspect that your computer is infected with a virus, you should obtain current antivirus software from a vendor who is commercially involved in virus detection and removal to resolve this issue. For a list of suppliers (vendors) of antivirus software, view the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

Dr. Dudd, no virus here, in my case it's a case of me doing too many things at once and nto paying attention. I remember the exact moment it happened. I was moving photos into different folders trying to organize them so I could burn them onto a CD. I was doing it while watching TV and had 2 dogs in my lap and yakking on instant messenger when all of a sudden they just went POOF! I dunno what I did. Then just recently I noticed them on my bookmarks folder, they're nice pictures I'm just glad they weren't lost. It's a huge job cause I have over 2,000 photos on my hard drive still. But I'll get there. For starters I removed the distraction of instant messenger, that thing was really slowing this old machine down!

Lets try another approach. Try using search to find and select them all.

Start > Search > Files or Folders

Punch in *.gif or *.jpg (depending on what type of file format your pictures are) then hit Search. After its done searching you will be presented with a large selection of pictures. Sort the images by the location up top then look for your group of photo's. You can click the first one and hold the mouse button, pull down and select all the photo's you want to move then do a right click > Cut and go to your photo dir and paste them.

Instead of using cut,I would use copy,because if you are not sucessful in moving the,you could loose them in the process.I would copy them and after i confirm that they have been copied,then I would go back and cut them from the other folder.

Good advise Dr. D. I have learned the hard way over the years, using MOVE and CUT functions. Copy has become a good friend of mine. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

When you hav important stuff and all of a sudden something zig when it should have zag, and yuh stuff ends up in a black-hole somewhere in the PC universe, yuh get kina paranoid afta dat. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

Thanks guys, and Tuffie I'll check into that program. I'm almost finished moving them! I do still have one missing something but thankfully those were the resized doubles and not the original photos. If I EVER get these thousands of photos off of here, I vow to be more vigilant in removing photos in the future, this has been a royal pain in the behind. Gosh, it's like having a huge rubbermaid container full of photos and trying to organize them, ish ish ish...
