Rogers cable with voip is a big mistake...the service is very bad
you can get bell high speed and get voip thats better

The only reason I had a home phone was because of my DSL internet connection. My ISP now offers what's called Naked DSL (which just means you don't have to have a home number) so I shut it off. Now all I use is my multi-media cell phone [img]/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

Best part! I can turn that [censored] off when I what! [img]/forums/images/graemlins/704555_dwl.gif[/img]

I was really glad to have a land line after Wilma (I had no current for 3 weeks).

My brother visited a few years ago, after he left, I had a bill for over 1000 DM (app. US$600 , because it seemed he spent the time I wasn't around calling his wife. My nephew visited, I had a bill for over €2000(appr. US$2800). He spent the time I wasn't there calling all his friends and relatives in England, the USA and Canada and Jamaica. When I again started getting high bills because of my son, I decided to cancel the landline and go with the cell, and believe me it is cheaper and very convienent.

Sue BTW, my son has his own cell with a monthly credit limit of €15. Anything over, he has to buy himself a card card from his pocket money.

I am satisfied and have no plans for a landline in the near future, so I see nothing wrong with this.

SueSumba... yes I've heard of this, in fact more and more these days people are cutting off their home phone and just using their cell - I don't have a cell, but am thinking of doing the switch myself, mainly due to high costs for having a Bell land line - NO other costs, like long distance and it's almost $40 a month still!!

I'd still be somewhat "suspicious" of him, but that's not due to his phone situation, it's due to me not trusting men!! LOL.... always best to air on the side of caution [img]/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

we have not had one in about 5 years...and still don't ...if it wasn't for VOIP...we would still be reachable only via cell phones...

land lines are way toooooooo expensive..blasted set a tief dem....

If I had a decent signal at home I'd probably do away with the house phone as well, just keep a minimal line for DSL hook up.

Boopie, put your cell phone on the National Do Not Call Registry. I never get sales calls.
However, it makes your number unavailable or private. Meaning it won't show up on caller ID.
