TD, mi still ah bit confused. What yuh mean by, "her verizon thing"? Is that a Cell Phone, Blackberry, PDA, or an Hand Held GPS unit?

Verizon offers a service that works with certain cell phones called VZ Navigator -- a GPS service which can list restaurants, places of interest, in addition to turn by turn directions.. It is a subscription service of $9.99 a month but you can also have a casual usage service of I think $3.99 for the day.

It is meant to work like a GPS system..

its just a cell phone...with a built in camera...I'm not a cell guy, but I can find out what model it is when she gets home from work. she can connect to the net, get e-mail, text msg., the trip/navigator downloads off an internet site. She happened to find out about it on a tv ad. My daughter has t-mobile and gets something off the google site...but I guess it's not as good.

TD, where in the vehicle was the cell phone located/positioned, while you guys were actually driving?

Soh that would mean sey is a cell-tower feed system, or possibly a combanation of both cell-tower and satellite feed, similar to XM-radio and Sirrius radio transmissions. I guess the only way to really tell would bi to goh way out inna di waste-land areas under heavy tree covering an si if it still ah wuk. Or better yet, jus call dem and ask!
