So far, I found a Samsung Dart with T-mobile, suggested retail $149 with a $50 instant discount if purchased on line....free shipping and will arrive the next business day.

It states that it has direct access to Android markets, 2g memory card included and up to 35g expandable memory, GPS , 3 megapixel camera.
The screen seems fairly small the width of the phone is 2.4 inches

I am trying to find out how the music works if I have to buy apps for the music or if it has a mp3 player, easy access to music and the sound is important to me.....

Got mixed reviews on the website about the phone, mostly about how often it has to be charged, like I said my usage is pretty simple so this might be the one I purchase although I am still shopping and have not made a final decision yet.

Mi go tek faas and go upgrade to a Samsung Galaxy S2 android phone.......

This is the challenge... I saved my pictures to the memory card but I do not see where the pictures are or how to view the pictures (eventually move/copy) from the memory card to the phone.

I go into Settings > Storage and that is showing storage for SD card, USB, and Device memory... The SD card is zero available, some space used for USB storage (how is that?) and Device memory showing avaialble with over 1 gig.

How do I copy or move stored pictures on the memory card to the samsung Gs2? It's the same sim card that I switch between the two phones...shouldn't it read and load the pictures? It a frustrate me yah.

So you are using the sim card from the old phone in your new phone. Do you have all your contacts now on your new phone?

As far as photos etc...., were they placed on a micro SD card and the same micro SD card is now placed inside your new phone?

This sounds like what you are saying. I'm just making sure.

Storing on camara memory will reduce your working memory eventually resulting in slow response from phone.sim card and memory card are not related.so changing sim will not affect memory. Or rather dim carry communication memory but in android phones other memory is stored either in the phone or on sim card.pictures are stored in the latter areas
even your phone contacts even it also stored on the sim.

Agreed! Samsung Dart screen small and not very good from what I have heard.

There are various apps to play media (inclusing music and video files). One will come loaded on your phone when purchased but there are probably better ones available for free.

As far as placing new content on your phone there are a few ways. There are apps for that too where you can pay for songs and then there are alternatives . You can also upload songs from your pc or mac to your phone.

Nothing, except shi may not waa fi carry two different device, just for tethering.

The SDcard you are looking at is the internal card not the external. keep moving up one level with the file manager until you get to "/". Select the "REMOVABLE" folder, which is the external SD card.

You can open two sessions of the file manager, if you don't have a dual window version.

Zero available on the SD card could mean it is not yet formatted and as a result is
not usable by the phone until this is done too.

Edited... i am just noticing something...

I see what you are saying Dr. Dudd and I now realize that I am confusing storage on SD with USB storage and Device memory storage. So this is what I am seeing (well, just now seeing)

Storage
SD Total Available is 0

USB storage Total space available 6.09 gb ... well that makes sense since the audio/mpeg files were copied from the laptop hard drive to USB. <span style="font-weight: bold">Shouldn't I be able to see THOSE files somewhere??</span>

<span style="color: #000099">Device memory
Available 1.90 gb -- The pictures from my old files are stored to the device memory and this is the 1.90 gb. How do I even get to see those pictures?? That's the bigger question.</span>

That's the bigger question.</span> </div></div> tge USB storage is not yet stored on the phone it is either tethered to the laptop and reading the storsge from there or you have a usb stick attached. try to open the usb storage then use menu to chose where to transfer it click on your SD drive and format it then transfer data to it.
you can go also to android market and search for free app like bookmark 2SD to make it simpler.
