Re: I bought a car today!
Mistake I made along the way...not stopping at the dealership where a dear friend that I've known for about 40 years is the manager. In my defense, it was the first place I went when I started my quest but I did a drive through the lot and didn't stop inside when I didn't see anything I wanted in my price range.
This morning on my way to work I stopped in long enough to give a synopsis of what I'm looking for and the most I want to spend. I was pleasantly surprised when a woman sales person was the one helping me. It's a woman thing. if you are a woman trying to buy a car in a man's world you will understand, if not you prolly won't! I can tell you some horror stories! Anyway, I told her what I want and said I'd be back after work to see what she had to show me.
Low and behold, there it was...inside one of the showrooms! That is why I didn't see it the first day. Maybe there is a reason that this happened. I had to go drive and look and see what's out there to fully appreciate my find of today.
My car, only 7 years newer with 145,000 less miles and much prettier! Factory warranty for another year and a half.
a 2004 Dodge Intrepid.
It is dark gray with tan leather electric seats and CD player etc, very plush an comfortable. Same way with my current Intrepid, 16 inch tires for a smooth ride. Nice nice, and only 52,000 miles. also about 1,500 cheaper than the Audi or the Sebring! Maybe even less if I sell my Intrepid this weekend. The dealer is going to handle my sale paperwork for me to be able to figure it into my down payment. I might have it sold from calling around last night to a friend for a sacrifice price but it's a no fuss no muss deal and everyone will be happy. Especially me because I LOVE the Intrepid I have now, and have been sad to think of replacing it!
I will pick it up on Monday though, because by the time I drove it and worked out details my insurance agency was closed to get a rider put on it.
I can wait two more days!
