Anty Cntry I have had to replace my windshield pon de truck at least 3 times... each time mi use de insurance company an my premium never went up... granted is nat a Bimma truck... but still - I was with State Farm Insurance at that time an dem nevva gi mi nuh worries

Now I am with Amica and they are a good company also... I would threaten fe lef dem if dem raise u premium - but get some quotes from other ins cos fuss.

When they repair windshields they are using some sort of gel and if it is in the line of sight it will look like smaddy put saran wrap on yuh glass.

Ah whedis world come tuh wen honest people whe pay dem premium fi years hav dem bunch ah tiefing *%$#@ mek dem fraid fi file ah legit claim?! Afta ah noh charity business wi inna! Yuh dyam if yuh do an yuh dyam if yuh dont! Dem screw yuh going ah coming.

Any way, ah likkle caution on getting windshield installed:

In case unnu dont know, wan ah di purpose of di windshield, is fi keep yuh in di vehicle in a frontal collision. If di installation is not done properly you can be ejected from the vehicle and killed, because the glass pops out when you hit it. Some of these smaller operations, do not follow proper procedure in preparing the bonding surface as they should, or use the proper adhesieve, or allow for the requires amount of adhesive setup/cure time with the required amount of pressure. Consequently the adhesive is not properly bonded to the glass.

Just for info, there is a minimum 90 minutes cure time at the factory during glass installation, before anyone is allowed to touch the glass.

raaatid, a wha u a say, 90min cure time??? and dese ppl waan come out to my house to install it??? - dem never tell me bout no cure time??? so me no tink dem business bout cure time, as long as dem come out and can charge the ins comp dats all dem business bout~~

but hear dis, dem want to install it in my garage/driveway...dem ask me if me have driveway, me say yes but why, u cant install it on the street, dem say no, it have to be in a driveway....wth~~

all now me no fix it

cause dem need a place fi puddung dem tools &amp; ting while dem a work.. dem need fi bring dem vehicle wid dem stuff close by too

some places like safelite prolly noh have shop nearby so dem just mek it convenient fi u

Some ah dem wi duh ie inna parking lot ah yuh job.

Anyway, mi personally, if mi noh kno, or like dem process an di dealer too expensive fi fix ah older cyar. Choo, mi wi drive wid di crack, like mi duh wid wan ah mi older cyars dem. Especially if di crack run cross di botton ah di windshield, since mi still hav 85 to 90% un-cracked. Mi value mi safety ova di, crack look. But dat ha mi, tuh each his own.

Dem still fail yuh cyar inspection ah East Coast, if yuh hav crack W/S?

most winshields are now manufactured Hecho en Mexico
no thanks to PPG.

making all this crap in Mexico has lowered any cost to the cosumer except job loss
