Re: Dealer diagnosis
Marnin JKid. No, the cost of the sensor is around 50.00 and install around 100.00, PLUS the 70.00 diagnosis. I will have the weekend to be free of this worry mess, then address it again first thing Monday morning. A cousin also mentioned crank shaft sensor. It peeves me off to NO END to get the same diagnosis again...unless this is really the problem. IF that is the case, then it is a good thing, even though a 150.00 job I paid for is MAY cost me 220.00 more on top of it. Bex me bad.
As an aside..my bead store owner told me of a customer from southern Minnesota who was in town and had a car problem. I can't remember which pump she had replaced, power steering maybe...by my same usual mechanic. She drove the car a few miles and it had the same problem, so she had to go back and have the same new part installed. Evidently, some of these new replacement parts seem to have a high failure rate, if all of a sudden I can cite another problem in a short time from the same parts store. It seems mechanic is good, but the parts he is using might be problematic.
I will be back with more story as it unfolds.
