Digital Cameras???

I have bought the throw aways since they came on the market, but, now I've decided to come into this century and buy a digital.

Knowing absolutely nothing about cameras, digital or otherwise, anyone have a good suggestion for a camera for me to look into.

I think my ONLY preference would be one of those really, really slim ones.

Dunno how it compares to others but I have a HP Photosmart R725. (6.2mp)

Small, light, easy to use and the price was right at the time.

<span style="color: #3333FF">Speaking of digital cameras, do all of them do that pause before taking the picture? Do any of them actually take the picture when you press the button? It drives me crazy, I can't think of how many shots I've missed because I have to press and hold the button for a couple of seconds. </span>

<span style="color: #3333FF">I don't always need to focus, but everytime I press the button and hold it, it takes 1-2 seconds for the thing to take the picture. </span>

Mine does that focus thing but there's still a delay...worse if mi tek OFF de flash, it tek even longer [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/confused.gif[/img]

Yes, there are some that do, just like the older flim type cameras. You will have to shell out some big bucks for those though, caa dem is very very expensive. Close to $1K and up, in price.

you mean a digital SLR as opposed to the digital point and shoot which delays like it is going out of style

No delays with the digital SLRs, but like The Kid said, they can be fairly expensive.
