</div></div> I kind a heard about that sometime ago,but never seen a soldered Ram . So if it is soldered in the '0' slot, you wom'nt be an;e to get the uptimum increased speed, but I am justyy speculating.

should i be lookin at something else? </div></div> You have increased your memory, but the larger block of meoiry have to be in the '0' slot otherwise ot is limited by the smaller block in the batch size it can process. i otherwords, it will actually use the small block to do the majoroty of it's processes.,which will be as slow s it was before you add the 1 gog.

What performance issues are you having please?
When you first put the memory in, the laptop would recognize the change.
On reboot it should then ask you to enter setup and reconfigure.
You then boot to the operating system.
If you can right click on My Computer and see the total memory, (which would include the addition), then the Computer should operate properly.

If you have a digital camera tale a pic of the ram you remiove, and a scan th eonfo from the one you put in,and post them here. since from what Tuff Ging posted about the spec of youyr machine. It says your total memory is mermvable as In <span style='font-size: 17pt'> Dell Inspiron 700m takes the PC2700 DDR SDRAM SODIMMs Mem ory Type, and comes installed with 256 MB (removable) of Memory. You can upgrade your Dell Inspiron 700m to up to a maximum of 2.0 GB Memory, the system has 2 sockets to install Memory, already with 256 MB (removable) standard Memory installed. </span>

Looks like it.
What is the spec on the Memory?
Name
Type
The Memory Stick could even be bad, even if it is the correct specs.
Was it inserted properly, the slot could have a hair in it or the memory not seated properly.
Should not hang during boot either.

and how can i resolve this?

Just thought of something can you go into the setup and change the settings so that it will check and count the memory as it loads?
I don't know if you can do it with a Laptop, but if not you need to find a program that will help you to check the integrity of the Memory Stick.
