hey yaa miss bizi, i noh wanna be negative but on the real i don't think there's much hope. i once drowned a phone inna waterfall, it was in my pokkit at the time and didn't even get fully immersed, but nonetheless i never could reclaim it. and it wasn't even my phone so i was real worried. (thank goodness Angie is so good-natured....she took it all in her stride an BOAL when i tole her) [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif[/img]

anyway i took it all apart using eyeglasses tools - teeny weeny lil screwdrivas an such, left all the million pieces out fi days to air-dry, used blow dryer (on airdry-no-heat setting)... after a couple days it seemed like it was all dried out, no more wata ina de screen, etc. --but it never did work again. At least with the SIM phones, the chip is the only part that really matters anyway, so i just put it inna new phone an done.

and miss Angie was quite happy with her new phone, LOL.

Dat mean seh you try turn it on too quick and may have already done damage to it. I once saved a pager that went to the bottom of a hottub while it was on. The first thing I did after I recovered it was take out the battery. That way there isn't enough power to do damage. Then I took it apart and dried out all the water I could find. Once I did that, I put it back together and it worked. That is what should have been done with the phone also. If you didn't take it apart, everywhere that water could get in is still there. When you turned it on, you fried it. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif[/img] Parts are cheap on ebay and less than a new phone for all the circuit boards. (&lt;$20 for most parts.) Or...time fi a new phone.

If you are in america ...go to any verizon or other moble dealer and get a free phone for a 2 year contract...it might not be the one you have but its something for now

Well, mi try it again a while ago an everything works except the screen doesn't light up and when i try to make a call or send a msg it says 'no network coverage'
I don't see any signal bars no matter where I walk with it .

Oh well, at least mi can still use it fi play music. Will just have to transfer all my pics n videos to my computer.

as for the new fone for contract suggestion...I'm out of contract right now so not interested in lockin myself in for 2 more years for no eediat fone [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70388-shameonyou.gif[/img]

mi put mi simcard in my jamaica fone and will jus wait til next month to get a proper new fone like i had planned

Yikes Kia. That is a tough question and I am going to guess that it will depend on if you took coverage or not. It is a 1 second thing for them to see if water damage has occured.

Gosh, I need to start marketing water proof cell phone covers or something. I am currently at the end of a 2 year water damaged cell phone bummer and now I am searching for the perfect phone because I have had to go with a horrible piece of crap over a wet phone. I just couldn't afford the full price of even the yukkiest phones!

The 2 year contract thing is kind of a joke. I have seen so many phones not last 2 years but unless you are in the last 6 months of a contract with your provider you could be SOL. I was just over 6 months into my contract when my nice phone went in the washer and done and the piece of crap they gave me for 50.00 ought to be against the law. It's almost worthless.

So Kia, how did you like the Blackberry? I see them for 99.00 and still wonder whether another 200 for I-phone is worth the difference.

i never really got to use it because they had a problem activating it and den de next day when they got it activated, the water spilled in the bag wetting it up [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70394-bawlout.gif[/img]

so I just reversed it to my old phone.. a motorola Q which performs the functions I needed.. I liked the pearl because it was pink and smaller [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70394-bawlout.gif[/img]

I havent connected it yet.. I have it near the pc fan to dry out and will see in 2 more days how it works.

the battery does have a pink indicator which shows it got wet..
