We found out that she had hepatitis C, probably contracted by using an infected needle. So now we have to be very careful with her belongings so we are not infected.
The cremation was very expensive in California, but her father and my daughter Angela should be able to pick up her ashes tomorrow morning and begin the journey back to Oregon.

jamaica miss, no need to worry about hep c transmission through her things. the disease can't spread that way, it's blood to blood transmission . . .

This really takes a load off our minds, because we wanted to go through her things and keep some that remind us of her. Thanks for the info.

I'm deeply saddened to hear this. My deepest condolences to you and your family. It's so sad to hear another person dies via addiction. It's a very insidious desease and the numbers of those who do recover are very small unfortunately and the struggle for recovery lifelong for most. My heart aches for the pain I know you and your family are feeling right now. My prayers are with you.
