yep, i am pretty sure its 3mos...the phone number/sim card will remain active if u put credit on it like Seveen say online, or leave ur sim down there with a relative, and this way u know u have a number u can stick with, they just bring mine to the airport when dem coming and me good to go,

i have a duplicate sim, quad band phone - luv it!!! i have my 2 sims, US/Ja, and I dont have to worry bout 2phones, and numbers there and here, just one phone for us and Ja

every cell phone i have ever left down there is finished by the time i go back even if it's a few months later

and you still have to buy credit for it

new SIM card costs about $15 - it will work in the digicel phone body you bought last time

last time i went down my family gave me a phone to use and mi juss buy the cyard put pan the phone so it look like a dat mi wouldan do cause every time one a dese chreads start way too much information (weh mi nuh need) get thrown in and juss gie mi more headache

not a big deal - but if i leave the phone in jamaica -it is usually mashed up by the time i come back - someone needed the battery or someone's phone broke and my phone was lent to them - and it never shows up again or something along those lines because someone has to use the phone - just because the phone is in jamaica doesn't keep the SIM card &quot;alive&quot;

right now my digicel phone and sim card are here (USA) - i go on-line and top it up about $5 each month and when i get to jamaica - the credit goes on when i connect with the towers as soon as the plane lands - never noticed any loss of credit either

and if Skelly has her old digicel phone body all she needs is a new SIM card - she does not need to unlock her digicel phone

and may I add..mi was Just there Jan- may 09 and if yu register ur pone wid digi wen yu buy it( yu do this by phone call to customer service) , yu minutes stay pon yu fone till yu reddy fi use it the next time yu land in Ja... and they wont nullify yu sim card..

So everybody keep telling me too

The first week I will be moving around without my family and then I will go deal with those madhatter ppl So this will be my first true vacation (at least part of it) where I get to enjoy JA the way I want to instead of being dragged from one aunti house to another and getting stuffed with ackee n salfish.....not that I am complaining per se but there is only so much you can eat in one day and you know you cant tell Auntie So and So that you just came from up the road and had food at other Auntie So and So an not eat HER food as well.

I agree Gen. TMI and you overload with info. After all that legwork moy phone has no SIM card anyways. So, buying one and bringing it back home with me is the easiest solutin.

If you have a tmobile phone you can go online and buy the unlock code for 20 US$ unlock it then pop in ya jamaica sim card and it works here and there..
