Question, how do you guys pray? do you get on your knees, do you have a ritual? do you have a special place to say your prayers?

I usually pray right before I fall asleep. I think about how my day went, how I could have been a better person and I pray for people making sure I say their names to God.

I pray about several things over my day. I don't get on my knees. Getting back up is too tough on an old lady. I grew up Catholic and praying was done every single day in church before attending Catholic school! Then there was church on Sunday too so I liked Saturday cause I didn't have to go to church.

Anyway, fast forward to the new improved old lady me. I realize that the Supreme being is everywhere. I do not need to go to a church to pray. I can pray when I'm sitting here or walking in the woods or driving my car, and I do. Whenever it strikes my fancy to do it!

I am not big at all on the formal praying in a specified place thing.

Same here Grayskull. I just pray when I am sitting &amp; thinking or driving. Some folks prefer the ritual of kneeling or like JahMamma, at bedtime, which I sometimes do, but I have no rules.

Freestyle Prayer works for me.

The Lord is everywhere and he listens to everyone. One thing that I firmly believe is that God answers all of our prayers, but you have to learn to recognize His answers.

Sometimes he answers not by &quot;GIVING&quot; you what you asked for but by showing you the means to achieve what you asked ofr.

Other times he may answer your prayers only if it's to show you that what you were asking for was NOT what you needed.

i don't belong to any church but i pray on my knees in a totally silent house

somehow it makes it a pray for me

and not just a &quot;wish&quot; i throw out in the air

i like to make my prayers deliberate

and humbling and being on my knees is humbling

but i go believe God knows what is in your heart

and yes sometimes there are unanswered prayers

I just talk to God in my head. It is like a phone line that is dedicated just to him. WHerever I am I just appeal to him and say what I want to say as though I am talking to a friend. In the night I talk to him right before I attempt to go to sleep. Mostly I thank him for the day that just passed and ask him to help me do better tomorrow if he gives me one.

update on my mom - not good

basically she has cancer in her lungs and stomach - the doctor is talking chemo - no operation - it's beyond that and hospice care after that

i haven't spoken to her since saturday - i call - she does not answer - and that is how she is

i have found flights for this weekend - but i need to talk with her - because believe me she is the kind to not even be happy to see - in her condition

i'm not sure whether to take abu with me - he and grandma have a special bond and seeing her so sick may not help - he knows she is sick enough to die but seeing her sick might really send him into depression

right now i am strong and not weepy - but when i called my mom's apartment manager and she broke down on the phone - i had to hang up on her - i'm at work and don't want to be crying

my mom is 81 and has lived a wonderful, independent life - she has a grandchild she never expected to have - and many many good friends

i thought i would have her for a little longer - but after burying so many family members over the years - i had prepared myself for her passing - i just wanted her to die peacefully in her sleep - not in the hospital with tubes coming out of her

she went into the hospital last friday - that tuesday she was in atlantic city - playing the slots

Seveen, I wil pray for you , Abu and your Momma. Although this is very sad, you gotta love her for going to Atlantic City. I'm sure any diversion will help her.

seveen, my thoughts are with u and ur family. pls take ur son to see his granny. can't get into it all right now but it will help him to understand life and it may do both him and his granny good.
