From Montego Bay to Port Antonio

looking on a map and looks like you take the A1 into Ochi from montego Bay - that i am familar with.

then it is the A3 and then onto the A4 to get into Port Antonio.

the last time I did the ride between Montego Bay and Ochi the roads were bad bad bad took like 6 hours to get home.

I am assuming the roads are better now, so how long is the drive from MoBay to Port A?

As according to Bizi and her driving skills the time frame is 3.5 to 4 hours.

1 hr Mobay to Ochi
1 3/4 -2 hours Ochi to Port Antonio

Roads are great!!! In March there was likkle construction here and there between port maria and portland..but not enuff to hold you up..an try travel at a time when less ppl expected to be on the road

alright. I feel a bit better now cause last time was no bloody joke

I want to skip Ochi til the end, and this time I plan to drive myself which will be a first

so I wanted to drive from MoBay to Portie once I get in. Less than 3 hrs isnt bad then.

The road from MoBay to Ochi is now a proper highway for most of it's length. And because of it you really have to watch out for cops. Watch the oncoming traffic flashing lights at you, that's a sign the cops hiding in the bushed soon. Full speed otherwise.

damn, I agree that there must be a deacclerating zone cause how u can go from 80 to 50km just like that

this will be my first time driving myself so I will take it easy.

u know, where I live if u flash your lights to warn other motorists and the police see it, u will get a damn ticket. Old school drivers still flash but most to afraid now to do so

They always pick an area for a speed trap where the 50km/h sign is overgrown by some bush, and although the 50 zone should be a built up area, a bare macca bush so you wouldn't think to slow down.

Jus tek you time and nuh bodda try drive like Bizi.

Yes. Only one problem. NWA don't really like to post signs that tell you what 'highway' you de pon. But it's hard to get lost going to Porti.

Basically stay near the coast. The road does go inland a few times, But there will be signs for Port Antonio so you'll be alright. Even easier coming back.

Just nuh bodda bruk off de indicata stick like missus vegas or the car rental place will charge you.

Full coverage kinda dear still. But limited liability where you pay $700US excess if you mash up di veekle is a not a bad idea.
