I feel like I'm clogging up the prayer circle with letting people know what I've been doing so I am starting this thread

I'm just starting a campaign sending my comic strip out on my own representing myself instead of going through an agency, I will look into women's magazines. a friend of mine is more of a marketing mind and I'm hoping he'll like the strip and hustle to sell it as well. he's that type of personality, I'm not but I still am trying to push it on my own. Just finished putting together a few packages to mail out.

Went to the after hours clinic and they said they don't see people for depression and anxiety I'll either have to go to emergency or my family doctor, so I'll make an appt with my family doctor tomorrow.

I've put in more applications and resumes I've called the police stations and surrounding municipalities, so far nothing looks promising, just a lot of wait and see. I'm going to register for the emergency CPR course that is taught this sunday, that way when this city strike is over I can apply for the art teacher job, I'm hoping for that one pretty heavily. I'll also apply to other city positions, but I really want that teaching one.

Good to hear you're pushing ahead - get the word about your comic strip and keep distributing your resume. Also: do you have a twitter account? One of my friends announced on Twitter about 4 weeks ago that she was looking to get back into the corporate world (she was home raising her child).

She posted yesterday that she landed a great job in California (whole family will be moving). Now she's a good networker (her profession is marketing) but she used basically free online networks to spread the word about her achievements/strengths and the fact that she really wanted and needed to land a FT marketing position.

I've landed great freelancing contracts through Twitter. If you're so inclined to use social media this way, you can't go wrong with Twitter.

I was thinking of reader's digest, to get started.

anyway made a doctor's appt I see him tomorrow, I feel guilty, I got a call to do some background work for tomorrow but I turned it down because of my doctor's appt. now the background work is just being an extra in a movie or tv show, pays about 80 for the day, I signed up with the agency last week had one gig on friday, now I feel guilty as I really need the money, but it isn't really steady work and you are allowed to turn down bookings for any reason. I told myself I've been depressed for such a long time and it's time I look for help, $80 isn't going to make me feel better I think steady employment will help but I know $80 won't, but I can't help feeling guilty about turning it down.

I'm telling myself that in the long run seeing the dr is the first step towards proper healing, I hope I'm right. I mean it's not like they'll never call again but I don't know how frequent they will call.

I'll look into setting up a twitter, but I always thought it was unnecessary I set up a facebook accnt to find a job, but I never thought of twitter.

Haki, thanks for the emails, I've applied to many of the positions, I'm hoping for two of them, one gov't one which pays GREAT and the other is for honda, pay is ok but it's close to home. I'd rather the Gov't one but the Honda seems easier to get with my experience. Tomorrow I mail out some of the sample packages to the papers. tonight I'm meeting with the friend who's into marketing hopefully he'll have some good plans for me.

Went to the DR today, it was a little disappointing, he explained to me some stuff I already knew and then he prescribed some meds. I was let down by that and even more so when I went to the pharmacy to inquire about the price of them, it isn't crazy but I still can't afford it. I didn't want to just 'drug' my problem away, I want a real solution. I haven't decided what I'm going to do about the meds, he wants to see me again in 3 weeks.

Need postage to send off the samples, I'm sure I can do it by friday.

Grayskull, the province can cover medication that you cannot afford especially if you are unemployed. You can inquire with the pharmacist how to apply for the coverage or look in the provincial government section of your telephone book to tell you which office to call. You can get coverage immediately so that you can pick up the meds and help you at least get steady until other solutions are in place for you.


I would also suggest you ask your doctor to recommend you to a therapist and not use your Family GP for such things. The help they can provide is limited but he should be able to recommend appropriate help.

Don't fret if the first doctor you went to isn't what you were looking for.

I thought you might want some therapy, you know just someone to talk to and get yourself sorted.

What were the meds for that the doctor prescribed?
