Ryan and Candice made it back to the US ok, after a plane delay of almost an hour (as if we needed that right now )

When I last briefly spoke with Angie they had made it to the CHildren's hospital in ATL. and she said Ryan was looking "better."

THe final word from the Dr. in JA was that she ate some sand contaminated with a parasite. The job now is to do tests to deteremine what parasite and get it before it does damage in the intestines. The challenge it seems is to get it completely out of her system.

If I am not wrong, Libby had a go at this some years ago and as I recall it was tough.

THe word from Jamaica is that the medical staff was caring and loving and very thorough in handling Candice and the baby. ALso big ups to Candice whom I understand stayed very calm and confident in her Lord and his power throughout this ordeal. It seems that she and Ryan both made an impression on the hospital staff and they could not do enough for them.

As you look at Ryan's pictures you can see that she looks like she has been here before, and the staff picked up on that. T Small said that they kept saying she was a "special child."

I know they will never read this, but thank you anyway staff at the Sav hospital for your response and care.

So now we have to get the baby well, and when I hear from Angie I will post here as she has asked me to be her spokesperson to you all and to thank you all for your prayers and support at this time.

I am so happy she is ok..she is such a sweetheart! Those stomach bugs are no joke! but thank God she is alright!

Update

Ryan was released from the hospital about 1o am to go home. The docotor says there is no parasite, probably a virus, severe dehydration and injesting too much sand that caused the severe diarhhea and vomiting.

Once sufficiently rehydrated Ryan improved a lot. They all went home for some much needed rest, and the two adults are bummed out. Ryan is sitting up in bed talking up a storm and trying to get the two adults up for the day.

She ate a graham cracker and some juice at the hospital which has thus far stayed down, so the worse might well be over.

Yeah Angie sounded exhausted...good part is Mommy is off for the summer and can stay home and give her all the TLC she needs today.

Now don't get the idea that they did not watch her. It's just that she was enjoying the sand so much and seemed fascinated by it. We could never tell when she was scooping some up just tolet it slide through her hands, or look at it or play with it, and when the urge would come to try to put some in her mouth. We'd catch it, but maybe little by little over all those days she went on sand overload or something. After all, it's not fiber.
