have been folowing this story (and the trip report too). i'm very happy that baby Ryan is recovering well, and that waht she is suffering is not as dire as first thought. i also want to say much bigups to mommy Candace - what i got from the story is that her calmness allowed the hospital staff in jamaica to do their jobs and focus on the baby rather than on trying to hangle a distraught mother. am not surprised that people responded to Ryan she looks like such a sweet little thing.

Go Go went back to work in Babylon and Candice is at home with the baby. SHe's doing much better, had another bad bout with diarrhea yesterday, but Candice was to call the Dr. about that.

Still she is coming around.

I asked them how they are going to deal with her when she cries for her beach and they don't know why.

Candice says that she WILL take her back, that this will be a yearly thing for them, but next time she will take things she may need. Also as Ryan grows, I am sure she will be much better off each trip.

Nothing can curve our love for Jamaica.

I just found this now...what an ordeal for baby Ryan, mom and grandma - I'm glad Ryan is on the mend.

People look at me like I am crazy when I explain that I met these people on the internet. Do you know there was more 14 of us there this past trip???
But those Negril.com folks, something wrong with them, they can be right in the same place with you and not say one word, then tell you when they get back home that they saw you.

So Candice is at the Dr. with Ryan right now because the diarreha won't stop. Vomiting under control, but we still are not WELL

Ok the latest is we are still waiting on test results, and then some other results that will come out even later than the first ones. The battle everyday now is to keep her hydrated, but it seems the new culprit might be locally grown fresh fruit which the doc says is not good for little ones.

Marilyn, do they know which local fruits are suspect? That would be good info for ppl with little kids to know.

poor thing, she'll be ok though God will see her though.

I've only recently been learning that you really have to be slow to introduce infants to new foods, I had no idea that kids under 3 I think can't have honey! (whenI found that out I started doing serious research as I hope to be a daddy someday) you really do have to be careful with stuff, watching my friend's wife feed their daughter I think 'wow she can't eat a big variety huh?&quot;

This is what the Doc said, not so much adults but the likkle ones have trouble with local fruit
