Roots..thanks for the rum cream! All the talk of rum raisin prompted me to make rum raisin ice cream. Soak 1/2 c raisins in 1/2 c spiced rum overnight.....or a couple a days if you forget them like I did. Soften 1/2 g vanilla ice cream, mix in the rum & raisins & 1/4 tsp nutmeg....refreeze. AWESOME!!!! I don't bother with a bowl....eat right out of the carton.

Good morning everyone! Happy Saturday! CUTE baby chick Rootsie! How cool is that...mom is coming home! That must make you very happy! Awesome she can now be closer to her GREAT grands!

BIG weekend here..between Dragon Boat festival and the Fair it's a whirlwind!

Dude, so LB is a gramma? How cool is that! Congrats LB! I suppose they must be getting closer to home by now!

So anyway, I thought of you and LB yesterday when this fun boat pulled up to Dragon Boat from Racine. There were two golden retrievers on board and as I watched them pull up to the dock I couldn't help but wonder how long they had been on the boat. To heck with RV'ing, I wanna live on a boat!

So now the big question remains...can I get my new haircut to do what my stylist did with it yesterday? That remains the question of the day. She made my last hair cut much funner and sassier yesterday and it's curly curly now. It was great yesterday and for once even bed head looks OK. I'll know in a few minutes as I need to get my rear in gear and hit the shower!

hmm - I got stood up last night ... waitin pon my late night phone date ....oh well - I was sleeping anyway -

Bwoy child called when he arrived in Las Vegas ... he left with such a heavy heart ... did not want to make the trip. I wish I had been able to go with him ... or that the x-in-laws were still there. They timed his arrival so he would not get to see them ...

i called them last week ... finally made peace with them ~

Jaithie - I have Jimmy Buffet blasting, and the Mojitos flowing ... where are you ??? how soon can you reach ?? gorgeous day pon my deck today ... reach the pool tonight for a dip under the stars I think -

been tracking my daughter's progress on FB. she, hubby &amp; 5 kids are traveling to NC in an Expedition. so far, so good.....hope bill is long gone by the time they get to the beach cuz the kids are gonna want to check out that ocean....

Good morning everyone! It's been a beautiful weekend. Breezy and about 85 not as much humidity. Walked in the heart walk yesterday, saw my aunt and cousin I hadn't seen in years. The walk was short....kind of a joke &amp; maybe they thought they could drum up more walkers if they made it short. 1 mile.....I came home and walked another 2.5 beacuse my galfriend and I hit the yuppie market and had a nice coffee and scone....I bought okra and fresh black eyes. I'm making my favorite summer veggie meal today for Sunday dinner. Frid okra, black eyed peas, and mashed potatoes. I haven't had in so long. I guess it's a regional thing...kinda like the Philadelphia Cheese Steak.

Roots, I bought the pickney a little Fisher Price learning computer....it has to hook up to the PC and she only has a laptop....not sure it they will keep or not....I was trying to buy something educational.....I'm so out of the loop with them! What a shame.

Oh Laurel....sorry to hear your son has to go through all this. It must be hard on him. Praying for the best.

Schultz, I just love fried okra and fresh black eyed peas. Reminds me of my younger days in Norfolk, Va where my landlady introduced me to fresh black eyed peas and pig jowls for good luck meal on New Year's Day.

Went to grandson's 18th birthday party yesterday. It feels like yesterday when I was making a baby quilt for him. Enjoy life everyone. It goes so fast.

JamaicaMiss, you are right, life goes by fast and we need to grab it and hang on and enjoy it to the max! I know you are good at it and I aim to follow that path as well!

The fair yesterday was fun and the dog show was a hoot, as usual. I'm supposed to be on my way up there right now to pick up my jewelry but I caused myself a little snafu when I left my ignition key in the on position a few hours ago. whoopsie! Fear not, I have Val picking up the jewelry and a call into the car forum for helps. Well... plus I'll wander out to grab my car book and see if I can find where the battery is hiding so i can hook up my charger. It's a new battery so what I'm really hoping is that it will charge itself.

Anyway the dock dogs were at the fair this year! That's a pretty fun sport from the looks of it. Most were Labs and such as you can imagine but you know, poodles are water dogs too, so maybe someday I'll throw Paris off a dock when she's in a pet trim and not her show hair!

ANyway, I caught this chocolate Lab just as he hit the water from the dock, big fun he was having!



Dh is on his way home from China finally! I just skyped him as he was boarding for Tokyo. Yipeee Skipeeeeee!

I'm looking forward to hearing how QK did with her weekend and Bill!

Mawnin Mawnin Mawnin!!

I ended up heading down Friday night as there was an early vacancy and I got my own cottage for the weekend.

Got in late and chatted a bit over cocktails before hittin the hay. Saturday morning comes early when there are 15 cottages to clean!!

But the cleaning got done and we had a lovely takeout dinner saturday night from one of my favorite restaurants in the area while we waited to hear from Wild Bill.
My friend had Melanzani Pizza and I had gorgonzolla capeletti with sage butter. and then we had a couple of fruity rum drinks before calling it a day.

Bill wasn't so wild after all. I ran back to my cottage about 11pm in the middle of a downpour to close windows and batten down the hatches and hunker down for the night.

There were a few downpours overnight, but no more wind than usual. Slept like a baby.

Yesterday we took a drive out to the ocean to check the surf. Impressive for Truro in August and the surfers enjoyed it for sure. I certainly would NOT have gone into that surf!





Anyway, we had a lovely time. I got in about 10:30 last night, caught a fresh and went straight to bed.

Back to that 4 letter word today.
