Graley's! too fun. Seriously though...all the old time riders in our age group are soon not gonna be able to ride the sportsters and super glides any more. And...they ain't gonna want to stop riding. I was thinking back yesterday to when I started. It was 1971 on a pretty gold 350 Honda. I've been hooked ever since, goin on 40 years!

You know those scooters the old folks have that you see them in the markets and such?
Ok, so picture it all chromed out and tricked up with fringe from the handlebars, saddlebags, spoked wheels?? Pappy with his long white fu man chu moustache drivin and granny in her leather pants & halter top riding up higher on the back on the HD sissy bar...

Marnin QK and everybody! Ya know...one of them scooters you mention is prolly my next stop.

We're finally getting summer here. it's been splendid for a couple of weeks now! I'm taking full advantage while it lasts...

So anyway, I got a job yesterday working at my local bead store! Now I get a discount on my beads and jewelry stuffs and a new place to sell. Trying to retire is hard work. I keep trying but fun jobs are being served up like dinner.

Planting a few bulbs and splitting and moving a few other perenials.

Yes it is a very nice job offer. Sitting in a nice clean bead store and selling beads, how much nicer can it get than that! Oh I know...the discount!

Next week on Monday I'll go follow my new bossman around and see the ropes. It's only part time which is good cause I needs my ME time too. I haven't even started yet but got my first discount yesterday already!!

Ok, last night I had a visitor and his mommy left me some recent pics.

Look at the big boy stsanding in his crib!!

Baby got back!! 16 ounds, 5 of it a$$!!

His recontruction is scheduled for December 10th. He still has a feeding tube that goes thru his nose, but the end of the month he'll have one put into his belly. Much easier for him to deal with until his surgery. After that he's going to have to learn to swallow properly so he can move p to bottle feeding and baby foods.

What a cute little sweetie! Auntie Nanook just wants to hug him up and hold him tight and smother him in smooches!

It was so hot today I didn't do nuttin much.

I ran to town kind of haphazardly to drop money off/pay insurance and stuff and cashed some jewelry checks and ended up at lunch with some friends...

Since I've used my ATM card a lot over the weekend & scooter travels I grabbed a account printout from my credit union. Something I NEVER do, but I just did. As I was walking out I noticed a charge for a Menards store 150 miles away in Minnesota for 196.00!!!!!!!!!!! scuse me but I haven't been that far from home or to any Menards store in months let alone spend 196 bucks someplace!

I stopped dead in my tracks and questioned the charge.

As of that moment it is pending and the 196.00 has been replaced in my account while Menards has 10 days to answer my credit union inquiry.

At least my cash isn't tied up cause I needed a glass and supplies order NOW!

The lesson I learned from this experience is ALWAYS to check your bank statement! It's so odd that I almost NEVER do a statement balance or even an online look/see as my brain is a human calculator and I pretty much know to the penny what I have in there so it was a fluke that I even asked for a printout. Hell, I never even do a statement balance of any kind. I just KNOW.

This time it coulda bit me in the behind!

They told me that there is a time limit on when yu can dispute charges which is something I had no idea about. Heck, that's almost 200 bucks towards my next Jamaica trip I could have lost!

So...does anyone else not check their statements regularly?

If yo do not...you might wanna start! I would have known eventually, as soon as I made a big glass order and a charge was denied or bounced. But by then it might have become a major headache!

The gods are lookin out for me.

Thank you checking account gods.

Anyway, it's crop harvesting time in farmville!

Instead of goin to the market this morning I'm making leftovers.
I did some wash, cleaned up the kitchen and cooking turkey bones for the soup.
I'm at a standstill today, don't know what to do with myself yet

Cardiologist wants me fitted with a heart monitor for 1 day to see what's happening. Go in Monday for that. The ole ticker has been acting up a little. Maybe I just getting too anxious about going home. Talked to Ted this morning for 37 minutes when my Ld card ran out. Mostly business again, but I love it when he says "Soon come".

Wish it was me...I was planning a late September reach but Georgia decided to take away the Homestead exemption on Property taxes So..have to postpone til I can save up some $$
