Mawnin friends!!

Please keep my mom in your thoughts & prayers today.
She was taken to the hospital at 5am with chest "pressure". She took 4 nito pills over the course of 5 hours and still the pressure came back.

They don't think it's the usual congestive heart failure, but they still think it may be a heart issue.

I just got in from the hospital about an hour ago and she's her usual self. But I know she was scared cos she used her "Lifeline"
Anyone with older parents with health issues should look into one of these. Especially if they live alone.
They contacted 3 of us after sending an ambulance. We were all at the hospital minutes after she arrived.
All she did was press the button on the medallion she wears when she's home and they had the ambulance there in minutes.
They then start calling her contacts to let them know what's going on.

Winter has arrived! It's cold and windy and no snow now but some coming they say. Next week high will be in the teens. It was inevitable I guess. I will not like the cold without snow so I hope it come and comes.

Thanks for all your prayers for Mom.
So far so good. They've up her dosage of Lasix to reduce her fluids and she's aggravated cos all she's doin is peeing!!
She's short of breath when walking a short distance which is due to low oxygen levels caused by the CHF.

They mentioned her having oxygen at home, as needed. She didn't like that idea. She lives in senior housing and always sees &quot;those old ladies walking around with that thing up their noses&quot; and said. No way!!
I said &quot;Way&quot; but they are only talking as needed and nothing's definite yet.

Anyway, they kept her overnight wearing a monitor. I'm hoping she had a good nights sleep.

I'm hoping we can move her in with one of us. The lifeline is great, but I think she's kinda scared being alone when something like this happens.

Goldi, the Lifeline is great. It does carry a monthly fee, but under a certain income level, the state pays 100%. It has a speaker phone so you can tell them why you're calling and they can verify if it was pushed accidentally.

One night she fell and couldn't get up. (Just like the old commercials )She was kind of wedged between the bed &amp; dresser. She pressed it and they notified her building and the EMTs. Both arrived and helped her up and the EMT checked all her signs to make sure the fall wasn't due to some sort of episode.

QK I'm so glad to hear your mom is improving. It's sad to watch our elderly parents loose their freedom.

Well, the cold is here and steadily going downhill. There are single digit highs in my immediate future. It is december so that is no surprise but with no snow it is no fun!
