Mawnin' all. I was on the road again seeing friends where I used to live in Sisters, Or. My friend who has cancer went with me. We also brought 15 quilt tops to the Hero Quilt group in Sisters. They finish them and give them to the servicemen and women at Madigan Hospital in the state of Washington, who are badly hurt in Afghanistan and Iraq. My sewing group here in my area donated some fabric, cut the fabric, and assembled the blocks. I take all the scrap fabric and make a special one that can use up small and odd ball sized pieces. I finished 3 of them and used all the scraps they had given me a year ago. When I returned this time, they gave me 3 bags of more scraps. It keeps one busy.

We took time out to go quilt shop hopping and I found some beautiful tropical print on sale. I will take it over to Ja, maybe for more curtains. Ted says some of our curtains are rotting from the sun, so I am also taking over some plastic liner to try to protect the fabric.

what an awesome weekend!! I went to a little Arts and All That Jazz Fest on Saturday with a long time no see Girlfriend ~ we ate, laughed, shopped, enjoyed an awesome day ...

the headliner to end up the music was AWESOME!!! Jesse Cook - had not known of him prior to Saturday ... now I am turned onto him big time ~ ENJOY!!

Went to the beach Friday night and stayed til Sunday with friends who have a home there. We went to Joann's Fabrics on Saturday and I ran into a high school classmate. So sad - she lost her husband a month ago. They were married in high school and she also got pregnant, but still got her diploma. She also has a home at the beach and gave me her card and wants me to visit her. So next time I go will make a point to call her. I made a sundress and then a vest. The vest is for the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW. They all wear navy blue vests with a big fat emblem on the back. They have ordered one for me. I still need to do the hem on the vest.

I am gaining weight. UGGHHH!! Eating too many good meals here. Ted won't recognize me. And my readings are awful. Must get control of myself. It's like I want to have everything over here that I can't get over there.

39 more days. YEAH!!!
