I stocked up on rum cream at the duty free shop, and made my way to the gate...


After last years fiasco with transportation I learned to book a nice hotel in LA.
I found a room at the Hilton for $69 through hotwire
Complimentary shuttle to and from LAX every 15 minutes

That down bed was the most wonderful thing I have slept on in ages

The next morning I am up early and I treat myself to a highly overpriced breakfast in bed...



Back to LAX through security and on another plane...

I am in the Bay in a little over an hour...

Boy was my little man happy to see me!

Marilyn, my mother struggled with alcoholism when I was young.
She beat it before the cancer got her, but it left a lasting impression on me.
I will have a drink or two, but that's my limit...

I hate the last day. I used to wake up crying the last morning in Ja, but lately the waterworks start the day before in anticipation of the dreaded departure.

Now I see why I didn't see you at Sangsters the last day - you were at Roaring River.

That morning while packing my bags I was listening to my new CD...


Morgan Heritage's song the gullyside came on and I started to think about all the misfortune in JA.
My lady with her one eye in Duncans. The little boy in Nine Mile that ran after the car for a dollar like his life depended on it

Nothing to smile about...


I had to run out on the veranda and tell Bossa he was missing my beautiful bawling
