Thanks for all the compliments. It took me 2 weeks non stop to make that quilt. My girlfriend was gone on vacation. I went to her home and took over the dining table and a bedroom to lay out the quilt.
QK, it was just great meeting you and talking in the water. I do hope we meet again here on your next trip. Loving your trip report.Comment

Lignum Vitae, the national tree of Jamaica. Also known as Iron Wood. Love the blooms.Comment

Tuesday afternoon we took a drive to Alligator Pond. I wanted dinner at little Ochie, but my friend suggested Bunch of Grapes instead. Dinner was yummy. Nice place. Not on the beach, but that was fine. Plenty of beach to come for me! From what I understnad this place started as a likkle cook shop and has done well. Again, no food pics. I had lobster tails, my friend had curry parrot fish. Also yummy.
One thing I did notice is a serious lack of coconut rum and smirnoff ice local in bars.
I did manage to get my friend to stock up at his bar and then proceded to deplete the supply. 
His brother drank with me one night and couldn't keep up... hah!! Outdrank by a ooman!!

I forgot to mention about meeting "The Boys" I will refer to them as M & C as I did not get permission to post their info here.
2 guys from the states who work with my friends in the summer down on the Cape. Turns out one of the guys is the Godson of an old friend's sister. They came from a small town in Western Mass.
Anyway, The Boys are about 32 yrs old and were renting *MY* house in Great Bay for FIVE WEEKS!!
This was the first place I ever stayed in Jamaica and JD & I rented it many many times.
As I said earlier the house had been closed up for many years after the deaths of the owners who had spent most of their lives working & raising a family in England and passed away within a year of each other while on a trip back to England shortly after retiring and moving back a yaad.
Sooo... I needed some serious beach time and had my friend carry me down there to hang out for the day, the next day, the next day and the day after that.
With my friends being busy with their daily lives it was nice to hang with them and have people to swim in the sea with.
I did not rent as I had hoped because the people who manage the place wanted an ADDITIONAL $50USD per night after they had already agreed on a rental price for the whole house. I would have been happy to pay it to the guys who already paid for the whole house. More to the story, but I won't get into that here.
These guys work non-stop all summer and then have the winters off. Next year they're planning on 2 months in TB.
By the end of my trip we were good friends and making plans to rent a room from them next winter.
for the next 4 days I sat by the sea, listening to music, drinking rum, swimming, chatting and obsessively taking pics of my favorite spot in the world.
The first time I stayed here in 2000 this palm tree was so young it didn't even have a real "trunk". Last time I stayed there was 2003.

Upon arrival I introduced the boys to CocoMania. Only C joined in and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
After that evening M asked us every afternoon if it wasn't Cocmania time. M doesn't drink and needed the entertainment factor that C provides when he drinks rum.
