BTW, mi discovah non stop to JA from Boston... mi juss may go a likkle more often if mi nah affi change up planes an tek 12 hours fi mek 4 hour chrip!!

Not sure I have any really exciting pix, but dem a yaad said way.

So, anyway, the phone rings an mi girls miss di turn into Great Bay. So mi tek di van an go meet dem & lead dem back a mi yaad.
At last!! What a lovely, warm, friendly bunch of down to earth women!! We went to Miss Bevy's cook shop down di road fi fry chicken & stew pork. Lunch was great and the chatter never stopped. JMiss, yus is a tuffah ooman dan mi did tink. Orbra & Alicia & Lula like meeting old friends.

After lunch we headed to the beach and set up camp under a tree near a goat. The chatter continued. A couple of us took a swim, but not fi long as fish were touching me!!

Great Bay back in 2000. Same beach as above from another angle. Check how much sand has built up around the far set of pilings!! A few years back so much sand washed away you could see reef on teh edge of the beach. Good to see it back to a sandy beach again!

We planned to get together another day in Negril and sadly the ladies were on their way so they could reach Negril before dark.

Fom there I went back to mi yaad and we went up by Crossroads to do more errands. As always making the driver stop to try & catch the next sunset before it's done.

When I was in my 20s Snappa had a totally different meaning... mi nah go deh but it nah ave nuttin fi duh wid fish.

As old as the vehicles have been, they've always been in decent shape and ran very nicely for their age.
Another friend bought an older truck 4 years ago and drives it to Mandeville from TB 4-5 days a week. It's ALL uphill from TB to Mandeville. Brutal on a car. It's a Mazda "space cab" pick up.

This car - not a pick-up - was bought in Kingston. His BIL is a mechanic there so I imagine that helps. I'm always told to look for a car that's been imported from Japan. Not sure why.

Take a look at the Gleaner classifieds to get an idea...

yeah - the Gleaner Classifieds are the place I have looked - not seriously yet ... just look to get an idea ~

your photo of that beach - with chat of the sand, etc. ... one of THE most happy and lovely reaches were spent at the little guest house Pelican Reach on that beach ~ woot woot ~

Laurel, my favorite stretch of beach anywhere is right there.
If you were looking at the sea and turned to the right, you would see the house JD & I stayed in for most of our trips.

It's come back up for rent. Nice place but no mesh in the windows. That doesn't bother me too much... Not so sure I like the way it's being managed but more on that another time.
