A walk with the future

I had an opportunity to go back to Jamaica, so I took it. 8 beautiful days on the 7 mile with a stay again at Bar B Barn.

I had 4 different girlfriends on the island who must leave because their 6 months was up.

Stay tuned for the violins, we don't like them right

But still I thought I could cheer them up as they had to leave. I still have that social worker in me, but let's be real, any excuse to go to Jamaica is a good one.

I can never remember the name of this little place along the way that Tommie and I always stop to get a bite, but it has a Craven sign out front. I was so hungry.

I arrive and throw the stuff in the room, call GF #1 and run on down to For Real's beach to join her for the day.

We had a great reunion and it was good to see her. I'm not gonna remember too many details about it, but I do know I went home and stayed in that night.

The morning of my first full day I want to get some teller stuff done etc. so Tommie and I hang out for a while. He has to go to the NEgril police station to get a # for immigration, when I suddenly realize that I have always wanted to see if it was true that there is a bar in every police station in JA. I swear this has got to be the COLDEST Red STripe I ever had.


There is a restaurant in there as well with table cloths and pretty little silk flowers on the table.

and these guys are out front, hardly feels like a police station at all

I'm mostly spending my time running between GF#1 and GF#2 (in order of when they will leave the island).

GF #1 is sinking into the doldrums pretty bad now. I can only imagine, she's been there since Dec. 8. So many things can happen in that length of time to make you almost glad you are leaving, then as the day approaches, you want to chain yourself to the nearest bar with a machete in you hand if anyone comes to free you.

I am amazed at how EMPTY Negril is at this time of year. This was my first opporunity to go in May, and I think in the future I can skip it. Places like Bourbon Beach were practically empty at night. I had a direct view of the place from my room, and I counted maybe 12 people.

Now some might say GOOD I don't want a lot of people there anyway, but when locals know that there are no tourist around, things drop off all the way around.

I didn't see the fruit lady I know at all, nor the pork guy, there was only one young man out with lobsters (and he was wrong because it's closed season and he should not have been selling them).

I only saw my music man once, had to call for my coffee guy...well it's the simple law of supply and demand, demand and supply Negril beach style.

The only people who were not missing were the gigolos and they were operating in deperation mode. I saw a few during the week who had been &quot;lucky&quot;, but mostly they were at the point where they would try just about anything to pick up a client....THERFORE, my time on the beach was very tricky.

My days fit a pattern....get up have breakfast, swim, order italian lunch, swim, drink some, swim, eat dinner, go to bed.


That's it...I never left BBB again except the day I did a little running around with Orbra, the day I went down to Travelers to buy my Bricks, and have some drinks across the street at Sunrise Club.

GF#2 and I wanted to have dinner at Catcha, but we just decided on drinks and sunset and an appetizer. From there we went from a drink at On the Rocks, and that just might be the extent of me leaving BBB's beach and bar area.

A word about BBB at this point. My GF #2 has been hired to paint unique things about the place and inside the rooms. I think Seveen has written much on here about that, LOL....but she has given the place her touch, and I love her so much that I can't help but love her work too, she can do no wrong in my book.

Anyway back to BBB....my bed was WONDERFUL, sooooooooo comfortable, especially my pillows. The bathroom was new and updated, and I ate like a pig. I tore up some pasta and salad everyday, and they do jerk right there that calls me all morning long.

I really really like this place since Angela has total control, and I feel that she will be taking it to another level as time progresses.

People....People who need people.... are the luckiest people in the world.

This trip I got to see Jitterbug, Orbra, her lovely daughter, and neice, Irie Star, and my girls, and made one new friend.

Well worth it.
