Girl - I get the same way in the heat of JaJa ... no desire for food. but I eat still - can often just get a one plate, I will pick enough to keep my head clear & Big Man eats the rest ... for a few days, then I need a nice plate all to myself. You be careful driving if you get a foggy head from low blood sugars ...

I tried to Google it - came up empty / but you did say it was a private residence - so IF I ever get over that side, may haffi beg your connections ~

if u want to stay there in the future you can PM for details. I didnt get their direction permission so I am hesitant to post pictures too tough.

They gave me their business card for future stays however they dont have a website or anything like that. The owners are essentially accross the street and have one more house they rent out as well.


Well I know this will be the last time I go to JA in the summer. It couldnt be helped this year. Only good thing is I start to lose weight cause I eat so little

i'm glad you were able to keep the business and family to a mininum and experience the jamaica that makes so many of us return over and over again

after we settle in to the house, we all headed out to Boston Jerk Centre for some more Jerk Chicken and Festival from Little David's I love his festival

I tried his homemade chicken sausage...ohmigod it was good but waaay to hot for me like his Jerk Pork This stuff will take the top of your head off.....but his jerk chicken is hot but not overly spicy.

The rest of the day we just cooled out at the centre and drove around Drapers and hung out. Nice easy day. i was just happy to be back in Portland

We did return to Black River later that night to hang out at a little rum bar that is open 24/7. It is interesting to see how ppl watch you when u are a new face in their neighborhood.

C andd Egghead took off to do God knows what I wasnt interesting to know where they went so I didnt ask and me and G just stat on the car trunk with our drinks and listened to the music for the night. We ordered some fried chicken and enjoyed each others' company.

It was another hot and windless night with tons of stars in the sky. I forget how ell you can see the stars in the country side Perfect really.

Next morning we all set out on a little adventure

We were planning a trip to nonsuch caves but since all of our butts were in slow mode we didnt get on the road til early afternoon.

Egghead and I lounged around the house while C and G roasted some breadfruit for us G made the ackee and salfish to go with it....lawd it did nice

unfortunately Egghead is allergic to fish and we forgot to say so before they combined the salfish with the ackee...so no ackee for Egghead.

C arrives after one in the afternoon and suggests we head out to Reach Falls. THe ride thru Long Bay and Manchinonel (sp) was beautfiul. We drove past Errol Flynn's widow's land I had no idea she owned THAT much of the parish.
