seemiyah, in truth? I did kinda lose my patience last night about it.

He comes by to drop off what I believe will be the recorder but instead leaves his digital camera...I <span style="font-weight: bold">am like W*T*H???? </span> Why on God's green earth do I need <span style="font-weight: bold">YOUR</span> camera Like this is gettting ridiculous now. I want the blastid camrecorder

so if you all would like to start an email campaign be my guest.

Well all I can give you at this point is a bit more narrative since no pix are forthcoming still.

The rain gave us a break as we started down hill on our bikes. The route is the same road we drove up on which entails many potholes to dodge Some ppl were aggressive and other just took their time as they made their way down.

The group was a wide range of ppl. From tweens with parents to older retired couples and all of us in between. If anyone got tired or couldnt deal with the rain, the coach bus was behind the pack to pick up ppl.

As you can imagine the view of the Blue Mountains was spectacular. As you pass threu the little towns ppl come out to wave at you and some of the kids would try to chasebehind you as you went. Many folks would stop and talk to town folks and then continue on. The guides enocouraged this.

The tour was absolutely no rush but was amazingly organized at the same time

We sarrive at the half waypoint tostop for dinner: I was like this is too much food i hadnt digested the brunch they served yet I picked at my food and that was it. Plus I dont eat dark meat, so I only nibbled on the chicken leg.

Rain started to come down while we were having dinner and that was an incredible sight Another wall of raindrops drenched the ground outside.

The tour continues either rain or shine so we had to head back out soon. Luckily the rain eased up by time everyone went pee and washed them hands after dinner.

I only have one still shot of the wooden building you stop at on the tour. This is actually a shot of where the restrooms are located.



We get back on our bikes and start downhill again. And then the skies open up again Those potholes now turn into minilakes that everyone purposely goes splashing thru

however for those who didnt want to get too wet, the guides whip out plastic oncho for ppl to put on. This is what I mean. Highly organized and well thought out.

just got a call from Egghead and apparently he cannot find his camrecorder since we returned from JA

I told him that there are a few ppl that want to stake him, so he will continue looking

so for the bike tour portion I will post the few still pictures I took with my own camera.

Those are all the still shots I have of the tour

The tour guides stop the group to show us where the coffee fields are and also to explain some of the plants along the way. I dont recall the names of the plants b/c those are on video but one of the was something like <span style="font-weight: bold">Mend mi heart or something like that.</span> The herbs is used to mend broken hearts and other medicinal purposes for yout heart as well. The name a couple more plants and allowed us to touch and smell them up close


The gudies explain life in the Blue Mountains and how herb and plants are heavily used since access to doctors is limited. But in spite of that many folks in the area live to see thier hundredth birthday

This was totally my groove Helps improve my knowlegde base for when I drop out of babylon and become a bush doctor in the hills

debating whether to post my conversation with one rasta from Buff Bay while I waited for my driver to pick me up

Needless to say, it was the highlight of my trip in some ways.

B takes me back to the guesthouse and I take a hot shower, yes I said a hot shower, to get rid of the chill from the soaking I got on the bike tour.

The rain came again really hard so I just curled up on the bed and fell asleep listening to it come down.

I awoke a few hours later and took my time getting dressed. I had no idea what I wanted to do for the evening. Since I was sparkling clean again I didn’t feel to deal with a hot and sweaty club.

B called and said he was on his way over to take me wherever I wanted to go. Since I had no idea what I wanted to do I told him to plan the night.

Honestly, I started to feel away about hanging out with B in that evening. There seemed to be a budding sense of expectation that was in no way shape or form part of <span style="font-weight: bold">my</span> expectations. He is NEVER out of line but a slightly uncomfortable silence descends between us - well most of that is emanating from me

B arrives and is stoned and slightly drunk……

He is moving real slow; eyes are blood shot and talking with a heap of nonsense. I remind him that it is my rental car he is driving, under my insurance, yeah? Alright point was made ……We drive off and he is driving real slow and I am not too pleased at the moment.

I decide to let it go. None of this is worth me stressing about it.

…we drive around the town taking a night tour of the city and he points out all the hot spots.... Where is good to eat on a Friday night... And just drive up and down the various streets to give me a feel of Port Antonio.

We stop at <span style="font-weight: bold">Labest nightclub on West avenue and Williams street across from Kamal’s grocery store. </span> Since the night was still early the club was essentially empty.

We moved outside to the balcony and watched the street theatre unfold below:

-the hot gals walking like they know everybody is watching

-the little boys who should be in them bed doing big people moves to the music wafting down from the club in the middle of the street – all to the entertain off the real big people watching.

- the jerk vendor setting himself up for business in front of Musgrave market for the upcoming crowds of night movers

- police men walking the streets with their semi-automatics looking at the people around them as though they are already duppies

-The little girl walking with granny to the market looking up wishfully at the club......

I just cooled out an a stool and took in the evening

The music at the club was old school reggae . Really nice


After awhile, I was bored. The night was still early so it would be a while before the club started to fill up. I said we needed to leave. B suggested we drive around some more and come back to the club later.

I think he got the vibe from me that I wasnt pleased with him, and chilled with the incessant and rambling chatter and just relaxed a little….or maybe the liquor did wear off.



Whichever the reason he wasn’t as insufferable. As we drove around, he went back to pointing out other clubs and the rest of the sights along the way.

We finally drove into a nice neighborhood – don’t remember which street. B tells me this was a club that all the doctors, lawyers judges, ray ray ray frequented on a Friday night.

<span style="font-weight: bold">Soldier’s Camp </span>is the name .

They serve good crawfish according to B. It was a nice little place with bamboo picnic tables outside with Christmas light strung all throughout. A small little bar off to the side to get your drinks. Very pretty andd comfortable place.

B kept trying to get me to eat even though I said nuff times that I am not hungry. I had to eventually say please stop asking me to eat b/c I already had dinner and don’t want a single thing.
We hung out for about ½ hour and had a drink. But B started with the drunken nonsense in my ear again . I figured I didn’t want to ruin the relationship between us so I suggested he just take me back to the guesthouse.

As we head out the police are parked behind my rental.


Why them love to be everywhere I am is not lost on me

They watch as we approach <span style="font-weight: bold">my</span> car. But the police are looking at us like we were doing something wrong. I get closer and see that they both had a beer in hand along with the man they were talking to.

All 3 of them had the nerve to put their beer bottles on the trunk of the car
By time I got between the two cars I was miffed at there disregard…so I stopped between them and said, &quot;I want you to take those beer bottles off my car back now:.

The police just looked on me but the civilan said, &quot;sorry ma’am no problem&quot;…..aie sah….

When I get in the car B turns to me and says, &quot;N you are one serious woman, Wen u nuh joke you doan play around……… but I like you still….&quot;

I laugh and say I don’t know how to take that so I’ll just leave that be.

B was like “nah man, nuf respect for what u just did but u come off as so sweet and quiet more time that when u switch I have to look pon you twice to make sure it is you!”

I chuckled and said alright no problem. I was offended by their actions and wasn’t in the mood to accept that this is Jamaica. Good manners have no borders and that would be selling Jamaicans short to say they don’t know better.

I had such a nice day talking to ppl in the Blue Mountains and thinking how Jamaicans deserve better than they have been given. They don’t give up their dignity because they don’t have much money. They were gracious and warm and choose to hold their heads up. So for ppl like the cops who have more and <span style="font-weight: bold">know better </span>I saw it was a choice to keep up with their dutty ways.

It was a moment thing and maybe I wouldn’t have been so brave on another day but today, I didn’t feel brave, just indignant at their disregard.

B drops me off just before midnight. He tells me how his baby mama is stressing him out and cant see why she stays this way. I softened a bit b/c I could now see that this was the source of the over drinking and we smoking.....we all deserve to be cut some slasck every once in a while
