The one of me in the water is in the river at Frenchmans...it comes into the sea right there, I LOVED it, best beach ever.

Yes it is Pelican Bar, off the coast of Black River/Parrotee.

I don't know how long it's been there, we went first in 2003 and I feel like it was kind of new then. I know it was destroyed by Ivan and rebuilt very soon after that, in fall of 2004.

OK, I'll do one more hint but it will only work if you have been there or seen pictures of it...it became a place tourists visit just a few years ago, and has gotten more and more popular though there is not much to it but nice people, good food and drinks...

dang - I did guess well before I got to this post .... and you KNOW I was right!! probably cuz - yes IT HAS become quite the destination ... for everyone except me!! seems to me that not alot of people knew what I was talking about when I first began to chat about it way back when I saw it in a travel magazine. so many vicarious visits ... but none for real for me yet!

I must remedy that!!

Frenchmans Cove in Portland. Can't believe i visited so many beaches in Portland over the years and never visited this one until last week!
