It was raining when I arrived, and it rained for 2.5 of the 4 days I was there. But showers are blessings, so I gave thanks.

This trip I am staying at the Kingston Hilton. I'll post room pics later, but suffice it to say, they are in desperate need of a remodel.

The staff provided superior service. Although I received top notch Jamaican hospitality, the decaying fixtures took the experience down a notch or two.

Check-in was a little on the slow side. And then after the wait, my original room on the 16th floor wasn't ready. And they had to switch to a room on 4. I still had a nice view, but....

First order of business is to get some lunch and get my hair done. I head out and secure a cab, off to Pavillion mall I go.

Lunch was fried chicken with rice and peas. The gravy had fresh ginger....it was a pleasant and tasy surprise.



Found a salon in the mall to get my hair done. She did an ok job. Could have been better, but I didn't have time to search around and interview people.

My hair is done and I catch a cab back to the hotel. I have no time to relax as I am attending a function at the Knutsford Court hotel. I barely have enough time to shower and change, lucky for me I laid out my outfit before I left.


Here are some photos from the evening. The signature drink for the night was the mintini. A creme de menthe martini. It was a nice mix of sweet and sour. I had a couple.
