THe night's entertainment included this Mento bad. I didn't write down their name. But they were very good.




The lead singer was a character. Full of jokes and knew how to keep the crowd engaged.

Then to my delight, these lovely young ladies entered and put on a spectacular dance show. I love it when I see the passing down of traditions and cultural history to the next generation.

I have a video as well. As soon as I figure out what I need to do to get it up here, that will be next.

the red herring tapas ?? were they soloman gundy, cream cheese and bammy?? just saw that recipe in Jamaican Eats Magazine ..

Here are some photos from the evening. The signature drink for the night was the mintini. A creme de menthe martini. It was a nice mix of sweet and sour. I had a couple.

I am not happy with the lighting on this video. It wasn't shot in the best light, but it looked a lot better on my camera.

Anyways, I am still sharing. You can kind of get the idea.

That sounds like it coud be it. Which issue of JA Eats did you see this in? I enjoyed the tapas so much, that I figured since I had no idea what the recipie was, I should eat as much as possible because I had no idea when I would get them again.

I hope the recipie is not too difficult.

Very simply stated. This was my first time at this hotel, and from what I heard about it, I thought the lobby would be more orante or more dramatic than this. Nothing wrong, just not what I expected.

Friday morning, and it is still raining. It was a slow lazy morning. After breakfast, world cup soccer and lots of phone calls, it was time to head downtown.

Bank of Jamaica has a lunch time concert series. I think they said it was daily, there is a band that performs for 60 minutes inside on of the large meeting rooms. The concerts are free an open to the public. The only requirement is that the person pass through the security screening.

At the entrance of the meeting room, the bank provides box juice and your choice of a chicken or beef patty. All for free.

The band of the month was 50/50. I have seen them perform before, I can't recall where though. The place was packed, mostly with BOJ employees, but it was a mixed crowd. Schoolers, young, old, and middle aged packed the room.

At the start of the concert, the band let us know that they would have us on our feet and dancing before we left.

Sorry, the first part requires you to lean your head. But I figure it out after a bit. I don't know why the videos show so dark on youtube.
