(((MG)))...that view was absolutely beautiful and I had the opportunity to sit on the porch every morning and just soak it up. Some days the clouds just hoovered over and around them. Glorious.

Each morning before and after breakfast I would sit on one of the many patio to enjoy the smell and view of the Hills. Each day I would be fascinated at the speed and the skills of the construction workers. I understand that it's taking no more than 3 months for these houses to be completed...unless the owners run out of money, then it takes a little longer.

This is the lady who took care of me while I was in Jamaica.



Beautiful person. No matter how early I got up in the mornings...she was already up, preparing the best breakfast. Sorry no pictures but take my word for it. It was GOOD. Breakfast consisted of ackee &amp; saltfish, callaloo, plantain, roast breadfruit, yam, banana, dumpling, etc. etc..lawd I was in heaven. Anddddddd she would include fruits such as pineapple, mango, grapes, oranges, etc that were sooooooooo sweet... I'm ready to go back.

one thing i have always admired about jamaican construction is how sturdy it is. Americans love to think they have these beautiful homes but it is 4 x 4, gypsum board and brickfront they love to sell for $1M

Sunday morning I was escorted to church by two Kings…literally.



This King actually works for the government. Very knowledgeable. It was fun spending a week with him.



The journey to the church was interesting. Yes we were in Montego Bay but lawd have mercy, we had to go through some bumpy roads. I thought I was back in Africa. My friend Sashana came with the Bishop to pick me up but I didn’t suspect anything. I noticed when we stopped for gas that she was talking to him privately and they had only met the previous evening. I still didn’t suspect anything. I arrived at the church and was escorted to the pulpit. I noticed my friend going outside quite a bit, I was still oblivious to what was happening. I told the folks who are a part of the ministry that they can never surprise me…hmmmmm…I was about to eat my words.

About eating my words: I noticed Sashana marching back into the church, this time with a quite a number of people behind her. I still did not suspect anything until the first person to move into the pew behind her looked very familiar. Meanwhile Bishop King is sitting next to me, knowing what was happening, yet he didn’t say a word. I had only seen pictures of the ministry group in Jamaica so it was a tad difficult realizing what was happening. I recognized yet another face, then another and another and so on and that when the tears started to flow. Somehow they had gotten folks who are a part of the ministry from all over the Island plus one from Massachusetts to come to the service that morning. They came from Kingston, Spanish Town, St. Ann’s and Montego Bay. Considering that Bishop King didn’t tell me in advance that I would be preaching that morning, they had it planned so I wouldn’t suspect anything. They got me good but I felt so blessed that they would travel so far to meet with me.

Yeah, it's been a while (((Danna))) but it won't take so long again. I have a personal invite for September. My friend is singing in a concert in Mandeville and he wants me to come down. I haven't said yes as yet since I have no more vacation day. However I will be back in March and definitely next July for the next peace conference.

I really love Jamaica and I won't stay away for such a long period of time again.

The peace conference started with a grand kickoff on Sunday evening with services both during the day time and at nights for the rest of the week. I was privileged to be a part of the conference and that meant I had no free time throughout the week. Still I thoroughly enjoyed the conference so giving up some free time in Jamaica was worth it.

On Wednesday I conducted a seminar on Women of Worth, Embracing Peace in their Household. After that session, the two Kings, Sashana and I decided to go to Scotchies for a late lunch.



We ordered chicken, festivals and dat ting dere





It was OK…Not the best I’ve had but they were raving about it.
