Jaipur has many palaces, this is one famous for its stonework. The palace is also open for tours, but we didn't go in.

After spending the day in Jaipur we head to Agra, location of the Taj Majal. The drive took about 4 hours, or maybe it was closer to 5. We stopped at a rest stop that sold refreshments and souvenirs. Of course the rest rooms were located at the back of the building, after walking through the restaurant and the gift shop. No matter where in the world one is, some set-ups don't differ.

The Taj Mahal, what can I say? It was absolutely stunning. Literally took my breath away. I heard it was stunning, but nothing prepared me for my first glimpse. It is part of a large complex of several buildings, gardens and open plaza type spaces. After walking through a couple of the buildings and across some of the plazas, I turned and asked the tour guide 'where is the famous building?' He turned me and pointed around a wall. I was all smiles, just one glimpse made the five hour drive in 90+ degrees without AC worth it all.

My photos don't do it any justice. The building seemed to have a personality, and even a sparkle all its own. I did get some professional photos. I'll scan one or two for the report.
