History major here, High school and college...this stuff turns me on. I was thinking about our founding fathers the other day, and what a labor of love putting a new country together must have been.

I really need to find a good biography of Ben Franklin; he's a fascinating character...did you know he was 70+ years old when he signed the Declaration?!!

Laurel, we were just talking about that last night...I told Pooh that I think we schedule these little get aways so I don't spend months obsessing about Jamaica! but trust me, the obsessing started as soon as we got home Sunday afternoon!

back to the story...after we had done our sight-seeing, we decided to stop for brunch....we found this really funky place called simply, Jones....the decor was just too funny...imagine a 1970's era suburban rec room; shag carpet, wood paneling, etc.....the food wasn't bad either....

the hotel was situated on a narrow stretch of land between the Delaware and I95...there's not many places to cross the 95, so we decided to walk along Market St to a bridge over the 95 that would lead us almost to where we picked up the ferry the day before...these are just some random street scenes....




it also seems that we had stumbled upon Philly's Gay Pride Parade...



there was the usual assortment of protesters and counter-protesters...



I got a big kick out of the gays and lesbians laughing in the faces of the hellfire&amp;brimstone crowd who were demanding repentance these religious kooks need to be reminded that &quot;we hold these truths to be self-evident....&quot;
