When my parents got married, they moved to Florida... I'm pretty sure they were Homestead. 6 months later my mom gave birth to an 8 pound preemie!
Anyway, my dad was a bartender. He's the one in the white shirt. Not sure who the other people are, but I think the guy with the cigarettes all over his shirt was the bar-owner.

Q.K. - isnt it something to see your parents as babies? I mean they look too young to be getting married but there they are. Totally puts life in perspective.

And I am digging the sleeves on your wedding dress I had a few blouses my mom made with those kind of sleeves when I was a kid. Mom actually made most of our clothes when we were little. So we looked like the Jackson 5 wehn we would go at as a family

OK I hooked up my scanner this morning...

This is my grandparents on my mothers side. Sadly, they were tragically killed in Jan 1941 by a drunk driver, leaving my mother an orphan. Gertie was 100% French Canadian and Gunnar came through Ellis Island in 1914 on a ship from Russia but he is Swede/Fin.




Two other Aunties immigrated from Finland a few years later. They were related to my grandfather somehow, not sure how. They would be the ones on the left and right. Is me in the middle in front of my mom and dad.



This would be my grandparents on my dad's side which is 100% frenchmen. I guess I got the blond hair from my grandfather who came from Finland because all the rest of the relatives on my dad's side of the family are all dark hair and olive skinned. At family reunions we would all hear...

Wow nice photos and great stories.

Wonderful, we all have a story to tell.

I was so happy when my container arrived here in Jamaica and 90% of my family albums and photos are here. Life isn't the same when your pictures are stored up in some room in boxes. If and when I leave this rock, I most likely will only take my photos with me.

I don't have a scanner, but I took a couple of pics of old photos.Sorry you can see my reflection in the glass.

This is me at age 2, that would be 48 years ago.



And another taken when I was 14, that would be 36 years ago.
I was living in Laguna Beach So Cal and already had the rebel spirit in me. Actually that rebel was developing most likely when the first picture was taken.



I will dig out some of old pics of my Sicilian family and my German family and try my best at it.

Very cool TSMall! It's great that you have your old photos with you! Funny, I was looking at my old pics and wondering when the rebel in me started to come out, lol...

This thread has me wanting to scan and put all of my old family photos on a disc. Some are getting pretty frail!

yeah this is becoming my fear as well Nanook

I have some great photos of my parents when they were young but no negative to work from. So I need to find better perservation methods before they fade too much.

If you have Photoshop, you can scan them into it and restore.
