And on the left hand side of the church, round the corner you get this. Montmartre, surely one of the loveliest areas in Paris. Very famous too. All the artists hung out here, Van Gogh, Gauguin, Picasso, Salvador Dali. Amazing to think you are walking where they used to......

Here they are fixing the street, the cobbles.
Looks like a nice caf on the right, must be a night cafe cos it was closed. It must have seen some great times and people...

The world famous Place du Tetre, artist's workshop. You can get your portrait done there. See the artist in the bottom left. He conned me into having mine done, doesn't look like me! but nice to have, all the same. Souvenir. Put this one in cos you see it in relation to Sacre Coeur.

surrounded by little winding streets going down and so (we're on a hill, remember). Notice the porsche, - honey, what a draggy colour you chose! If I could get me a Porsche, I would get me an electric blue one! - yes, there are some seriously rich people in Paris.

Decided to take in a terrace - heated! - have me a glass of french wine and a crepes and get into some serious people-watching, which I love...
